Video footage revealed by YAF showed Mica Curtis-Wilson, who the Caller reported is no longer employed at the university, telling students and faculty to separate according to skin color. The groups were referred to as the \u201cBIPOC affinity space\u201d and the \u201cAlly affinity space.\u201d The groups were part of the \u201cAllyship and Co-Conspirator\u201d session of the training, which was called the \u201cDeeply Rooted Conversations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are breaking up into two separate rooms just to facilitate conversation\u2026and also to allow those who identify with each other to be able to communicate ways in which we can be better allies in different spaces,\u201d Curtis-Wilson said in the video.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf I accidentally move you to the wrong room please just let me know,\u201d&nbsp;she added, saying she was segregating students based on their registration. \u201cThe point of this is to be able to identify how we experience these concepts and ideas and deeply listen to others and how they understand these ideas.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Students were also segregated during the \u201cUnderstanding Whiteness and White Allyship\u201d and the \u201cRacial Battle Fatigue\u201d sessions. More from YAF:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"10\">\n<p><em>During the \u201cUnderstanding Whiteness and White Allyship\u201d session, TTU administrators listed law enforcement as an example of \u201cwhite supremacy.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Another aspect of the training asked students and faculty to reflect on \u201cWhen have my racist ideas and actions affected others?\u201d and \u201cHow have I benefitted from my privilege\u2026?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In addition to law enforcement, \u201cimmigration laws,\u201d and \u201cservice institutions\u201d as examples of white supremacy.<\/p>\n<p>YAF said it obtained the information through the FOIA request after a student tipped them off. Dewey, the university spokesman, defended the trainings by calling them \u201coptional educational opportunity conversations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen they registered, they self-identified\u2026if they wanted to switch they could do that at any time,\u201d he reportedly told YAF.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis was an opportunity for people to discuss their individual experiences both on our campus and in their lives more broadly. I think in a lot of these situations it\u2019s kind of a personal reflection and then they come back together and kind of discuss within the broader group,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Dewey later told the Caller that the seminar \u201cwas not part of the sanctioned academic curriculum at Texas Tech University.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a series of strictly voluntary, optional discussions offered as part of a pilot program to students who were interested in participating through the Division of Diversity, Equity &amp; Inclusion,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
