According to the Washington Post on Thursday, a grand jury working with Durham handed up an indictment against attorney Michael Sussmann.<\/p>\n<p>Sussmann, who is employed by a firm with close ties to the Democrat Party, is accused of lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in 2016. He reportedly cited concerns about a possible tie between a Russia-based bank and a computer server at one of President Trump\u2019s companies.<\/p>\n<p>According to the indictment against him, \u201cSussmann lied about the capacity in which he was providing the allegations to the FBI. Specifically, Sussmann stated falsely that he was not doing his work on the aforementioned allegations for any client,\u201d misleading the FBI\u2019s general counsel.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Here is the indictment of DNC\/Fusion GPS\/Clinton lawyer Michael Sussmann.<\/p>\n<p>Sussmann&#8217;s false statements were part of an effort to start an FBI investigation of Trump, create media outrage, and tilt the election to Hillary.<\/p>\n<p>All while billing Clinton.<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/0lmMTXlahC\">https:\/\/t.co\/0lmMTXlahC<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Techno Fog (@Techno_Fog) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Techno_Fog\/status\/1438604568691187712?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 16, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>However, attorneys for Sussmann have denied any wrongdoing. Additionally, they claimed \u201cany prosecution here would be baseless, unprecedented and unwarranted deviation from the apolitical and principled way in which the Department of Justice is supposed to do its work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Durham is also reportedly pursuing a theory that Sussmann was secretly representing Hillary Clinton\u2019s campaign as well.
