Her nomination was panned by Republicans, including Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, who are concerned by her connections to Abrams.<\/p>\n<p>Woolard began lobbying for Fair Fight Action in February 2021, receiving more than $10,000 to do so. She <a href=\"https:\/\/media.ethics.ga.gov\/search\/lobbyist\/Lobbyist_Group.aspx?&amp;FilerID=L20050922&amp;LGID=31032\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">terminated<\/a> her contract with the group on Sept. 13 and is marked <a href=\"https:\/\/media.ethics.ga.gov\/search\/lobbyist\/Lobbyist_Name.aspx?&amp;FilerID=L20050922\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">inactive<\/a> as a lobbyist by Georgia\u2019s government transparency commission. She also registered to lobby for multiple gun control groups and Planned Parenthood affiliates. Woolard did not spend any money lobbying for Fair Fight, according to her filings with the state of Georgia. Her contract with Fair Fight expired shortly before she was confirmed to the elections board, a spokesman for the organization said, according to AJC.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll she really did was introduce some folks from here to there,\u201d commissioner Lee Morris, who voted for Woolard\u2019s nomination, told the AJC of her lobbying efforts.<\/p>\n<p>Fair Fight was <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2019\/03\/21\/stacey-abrams-irs-complaint\/\">reorganized<\/a> by Abrams in December 2018, following her gubernatorial election loss to Republican Brian Kemp. Abrams <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/03\/26\/elizabeth-warren-stacey-abrams-georiga\/\">refused<\/a> to concede the loss on multiple occasions, claiming without evidence that Republican politicians <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2018\/11\/20\/brian-kemp-stacey-abrams-voter-suppression\/\">suppressed<\/a> the vote in predominantly Democratic and black counties. As a 501(c)4, Fair Fight can only advocate on political issues, but the group has been <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2019\/03\/21\/stacey-abrams-irs-complaint\/\">accused<\/a> of promoting Abrams\u2019 own political ambitions. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/03\/12\/abrams-governor-ad-kemp-georgia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Stacey Abrams Ad Places Asterisk Next To Georgia Governor\u2019s Name)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Concern about Woolard\u2019s nomination was bipartisan, with Democratic commissioner Khadijah Abdur-Rahman voting against her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe could walk on water and cure cancer and give sight back to the blind, but if we don\u2019t take our time with this and do it right, we\u2019re going to be in the news again and (risk) a state takeover,\u201d Abdur-Rahman said.<\/p>\n<p>Georgia\u2019s elections law, SB 202, which was passed in April, allows the state elections board to remove county election commissioners and appoint a temporary superintendent.<\/p>\n<p>Raffensperger threatened to do exactly that.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" readability=\"7.4814814814815\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Fulton County needs to think again before appointing someone who is bought and paid for by Stacey Abrams to run elections in Fulton County. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/XvlNrWviTe\">https:\/\/t.co\/XvlNrWviTe<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 GA Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (@GaSecofState) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GaSecofState\/status\/1437938238690312198?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 15, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cFulton County needs to think again before appointing someone who is bought and paid for by Stacey Abrams to run elections in Fulton County,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/sos.ga.gov\/index.php\/elections\/raffensperger_condemns_bought_and_paid_for_stacey_abrams_lobbyist_to_oversee_fulton_elections_threatens_removal_of_fulton_election_board\">said<\/a> in a statement. \u201cAppointing such a blatantly partisan and conflicted individual, who is literally on Stacey Abrams\u2019s payroll, will do incredible damage to the already terrible reputation Fulton has for running elections.
