Sens. Steve Daines (R-Mont.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) introduced <a href=\"https:\/\/mcclain.house.gov\/media\/press-releases\/congresswoman-lisa-mcclain-introduces-bill-award-congressional-gold-medals\">a bill<\/a> on Wednesday, to give the fallen service members Congress\u2019 highest honor in a bipartisan effort backed by 30 of their colleagues.<\/p>\n<p>In separate statements, Daines and Warren both hailed the service members for their duty and sacrifice for the nation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThirteen brave men and women gave the last full measure to protect Americans and our Afghan allies at a critical moment in our nation\u2019s history. They are American heroes,\u201d said Daines in a press release. Daines added that \u201cit\u2019s fitting that Congress commemorates their sacrifice in this moment with the Congressional Gold Medal,\u201d referencing the end of the 20-years of combat in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2521243\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2521243\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2521243\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/13.jpg\" alt=\"A transfer case with the remains of Army Staff Sgt.
