Notably, even a cursory investigation reveals numerous examples of Planned Parenthood advertising directly to internet users that it offers abortions, contrary to Google\u2019s stated policies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Live Action said in a press release Tuesday afternoon that Google had banned the promotion of \u201call\u201d the organization\u2019s ads, including its \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/babyolivia.liveaction.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/babyolivia.liveaction.org\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1631727735310000&amp;usg=AFQjCNEGOFdZ8kX34HsX2dcXYEkXxVJ4Dg\">Baby Olivia<\/a>\u201d ad as well as one about the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.abortionpillreversal.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.abortionpillreversal.com\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1631727735310000&amp;usg=AFQjCNHungQGpD_7caYYmbdcntx_WqaRQw\">Abortion Pill Reversal hotline<\/a>, which is managed by a team of medical professionals, according to the pro-life group.<\/p>\n<p>Google told the Daily Caller News Foundation Tuesday evening that it does not permit ads \u201cwith unproven medical claims\u201d and that \u201cmedical experts have raised&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.acog.org\/advocacy\/facts-are-important\/medication-abortion-reversal-is-not-supported-by-science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.acog.org\/advocacy\/facts-are-important\/medication-abortion-reversal-is-not-supported-by-science&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1631745078070000&amp;usg=AFQjCNEQwE4vtUcC-RV-hFgLrKRig3LyWw\">serious concerns<\/a>&nbsp;about abortion reversal pills,\u201d citing an&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.acog.org\/advocacy\/facts-are-important\/medication-abortion-reversal-is-not-supported-by-science\">advocacy post<\/a> from the pro-abortion American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists claiming abortion reversal pills are not backed up by science.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Live Action\u2019s Baby Olivia ad did not violate Google\u2019s policies and is \u201callowed to run as an ad,\u201d a Google spokesperson told the DCNF, adding, \u201cWe have corrected the label that temporarily blocked its ability to be promoted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cBeyond protecting users from medical harm, our policies do not distinguish between promoting pro-choice and pro-life messages,\u201d the spokesperson said. \u201cAdvertisers are allowed to offer either abortion or abortion-alternative services. When doing so, both must prominently disclose which type of service they offer so that users have full transparency and can make their own decisions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThis would not be the first time that political considerations have influenced your company\u2019s ad eligibility decisions,\u201d Hawley told Google. \u201cIn the summer of 2020, under pressure from the cryptic partisan organization \u2018Center for Countering Digital Hate,\u2019 Google threatened the conservative website The Federalist with removal from the Google Ads platform, based on the contents of its comments section.
