She has not been replaced as vice president.<\/p>\n<p><span><b>Fact Check:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Harris traveled to Singapore on Aug. 22 to meet with leaders there, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/kamala-harris-visits-singapore-deepen-ties-counter-chinas-influence-2021-08-22\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Reuters reported<\/a>. The title of a video posted to Facebook claims she was arrested during the trip, saying, \u201cKamala Was Arrested in Singapore, New Vice President Is Announced.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The claim doesn\u2019t hold up under scrutiny, as Harris was, according to an <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/middle-east-business-969fe25162023468754e57746d6da80d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Associated Press photo<\/a>, seen boarding her plane to leave Singapore Aug. 24. Her verified <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/VP\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">social<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/KamalaHarris\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">media<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/kamalaharris\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">accounts<\/a> also remained active throughout and after her brief stay. Check Your Fact found no <a href=\"https:\/\/news.google.com\/search?q=Kamala%20Harris%20arrested&amp;hl=en-US&amp;gl=US&amp;ceid=US%3Aen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">credible news reports<\/a> about Harris being arrested or detained during her visit to the country.<\/p>\n<p>The claim that Harris has been replaced by a new vice president is likewise inaccurate. Harris gave a speech in Shanksville, Pennsylvania on Sept. 11, the day after the video was shared on Facebook, to honor the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/harris-bush-flight-93-memorial-20th-anniversary-911-attack-5739ee09-6346-4e0d-957a-1a3d7da10b64.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Axios<\/a>. Numerous news outlets, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/harris-bush-flight-93-memorial-20th-anniversary-911-attack-5739ee09-6346-4e0d-957a-1a3d7da10b64.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Axios<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2021\/09\/11\/1036262323\/vice-president-kamala-harris-speaks-at-shanksville-pennsylvania-9-11-memorial-ev\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NPR<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/video\/vice-president-kamala-harris-speaks-911-memorial-ceremony-79959431\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ABC News<\/a>, reported on the speech and identified Harris as the vice president. Harris remains listed as the vice president on the White House\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/administration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to her appearance in Shanksville, Harris also made a speech in support of Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Sept. 8, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/states\/california\/story\/2021\/09\/08\/harris-casts-newsom-recall-as-part-of-national-struggle-1390802\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Politico<\/a>. Footage of that speech can be found on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=NOcug7xo9JA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CBS News<\/a>\u2018 YouTube channel. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/08\/30\/fact-check-photo-not-kamala-harris-jeffrey-epstein\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: No, This Photo Does Not Show Kamala Harris With Jeffrey Epstein)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Check Your Fact reviewed the video included in the Facebook post and found it offered no evidence to corroborate the title\u2019s claim. The narrator of the video only briefly mentions the claim, instead focusing on topics such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2021\/09\/07\/a-sharp-rise-in-wages-is-contributing-to-worries-over-inflation.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">rising inflation<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/09\/07\/four-taliban-members-swapped-for-bowe-bergdahl-now-in-afghan-government\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Taliban leadership<\/a> and some conspiracy theories.<\/p>\n<p>At one point, the narrator attempts to baselessly suggest Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts has been removed from the court due to \u201ccharges against him.\u201d Roberts, however,&nbsp;authored an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/opinions\/20pdf\/21a24_8759.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">opinion<\/a> for the court on Sept. 1 and is still listed on the court\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/about\/justices.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website<\/a> as the chief justice.
