You can homeschool your children. You can shop online,\u201d Ruhle said. \u201cIf you didn\u2019t want to vaccinate your kids, you can homeschool, and people have done it for years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Raimondo agreed. \u201cWe are not being forced,\u201d she repeated. \u201cYou can work from home, get tested on a weekly basis.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think this is smart public policy and great leadership by the president,\u201d Secretary Raimondo said.<\/p>\n<p>Raimondo\u2019s assertion contradicts numerous planks of President Biden\u2019s six-point plan to combat the spread of the novel coronavirus, which he unveiled last Thursday evening.<\/p>\n<p>The White House website <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/covidplan\/\">notes<\/a> that President Biden signed an executive order to \u201crequire all federal executive branch workers to be vaccinated\u201d \u2014 a number it places in the \u201cmillions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/youtube.com\/watch?v=yepkjQBEYY8&#038;start=71&#038;feature=oembed\">https:\/\/youtube.com\/watch?v=yepkjQBEYY8&amp;start=71&amp;feature=oembed<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>The president\u2019s executive actions also \u201crequire COVID-19 vaccinations for workers in most health care settings that receive Medicare or Medicaid reimbursement, including but not limited to hospitals, dialysis facilities, ambulatory surgical settings, and home health agencies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese requirements will apply to approximately 50,000 providers and cover a majority of health care workers across the country,\u201d the website adds.<\/p>\n<p>The most controversial part of the Biden administration\u2019s plan demands that private businesses with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-biden-to-force-private-companies-to-mandate-vaccinations-weekly-covid-tests-report\">at least 100 workers<\/a>&nbsp;get their employees vaccinated or have them subjected to weekly testing.<\/p>\n<p>The mandate, which would be overseen by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, fines employers $13,600 for each violation. In all, the president\u2019s executive action impacts <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/bidens-six-pronged-covid-19-action-plan-impacts-100-million-americans-includes-vax-mandates\">100 million<\/a> American citizens.<\/p>\n<p>While the private employer portion of the mandate does not strictly <em>require<\/em> employees to be inoculated, the cost of COVID-19 tests may prove burdensome when compared to the \u201cfree\u201d COVID-19 vaccination. \u201cAt $10 or $15 a test, the price is still far too high for regular use by anyone but the wealthy,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/khn.org\/news\/article\/home-rapid-covid-tests-cost-biden-push-to-lower-prices\/\">wrote<\/a> Hannah Norman of Kaiser Health News. \u201cA family with two school-age children might need to spend $500 or more a month to try to keep their family \u2014 and others \u2014 safe.\u201d President Biden has promised to expand \u201cfree\u201d testing at food banks, community health centers, and retail pharmacies.<\/p>\n<p>Republican governors have promised a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/episode\/tuesday-september-14-2021\">vigorous court battle<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Raimondo called lack of vaccination \u201cthe single biggest thing that\u2019s holding back the economy right now\u201d \u2014 although economists say rampant inflation, reduced consumer confidence, and a hiring crisis caused in part by additional supplemental unemployment benefits place the economy in jeopardy.<\/p>\n<p>Inflation rose by 5.4% in July, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/july-inflation-remains-at-last-months-record-high-levels\">largest increase since 2008<\/a>, and by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/us-inflation-consumer-price-index-august-2021-11631564849\">5.3%<\/a> year-on-year in August.
