The Buccaneers are currently owned by the Glazer family, according to the team\u2019s website.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Taliban took control of Afghanistan amid the U.S. withdrawing all of its troops from the country by Biden\u2019s Aug. 31 deadline, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/last-us-forces-leave-afghanistan-after-nearly-20-years-2021-08-30\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Reuters<\/a>. Biden and his administration have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/fact-tank\/2021\/08\/31\/majority-of-u-s-public-favors-afghanistan-troop-withdrawal-biden-criticized-for-his-handling-of-situation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">faced<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2021\/8\/31\/defiant-biden-defends-afghanistan-withdrawal-as-criticism-mounts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">heavy<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/white-house\/biden-address-end-afghan-war-amid-criticism-over-chaotic-u-n1278142\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">criticism<\/a> for how the withdrawal was handled.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo.php?fbid=4823800607647625&amp;set=a.1197340983626957&amp;type=3&amp;theater\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">image<\/a> shows a full-page advertisement in a print edition of The Wall Street Journal that says, \u201cMr. President, Americans deserve better. Your impulsive actions, bias and indecision in your crisis in Afghanistan have caused Americans eternal shame.\u201d A line at the bottom of the ad states it was \u201cpaid for by Hugh F. Culverhouse, Jr.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But, contrary to the Facebook post\u2019s claim, the ad was not paid for by the owner of the Buccaneers, the NFL team that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbssports.com\/nfl\/news\/2021-super-bowl-score-tom-brady-wins-seventh-ring-as-buccaneers-dominate-chiefs-and-patrick-mahomes\/live\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">won<\/a> the Super Bowl in February. Culverhouse Jr., a real estate investor, lawyer and philanthropist, is the son of the team\u2019s late former owner, Hugh Culverhouse Sr., according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sarasotamagazine.com\/news-and-profiles\/2019\/06\/hugh-culverhouse\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sarasota Magazine<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The official Buccaneers website <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buccaneers.com\/team\/front-office-roster\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">does not list<\/a> Culverhouse Jr. as an owner of the team. Rather, it lists six members of the Glazer family, including Bryan Glazer and Darcie Glazer Kassewitz, as owners. The Buccaneers were, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/1995\/01\/17\/sports\/buccaneers-sold-to-glazer.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The New York Times<\/a>, sold to the Glazer family in 1995 by the trustees of the estate of Culverhouse Sr., who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/1994\/08\/26\/obituaries\/hugh-culverhouse-75-owner-of-the-buccaneers.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">passed away<\/a> in 1994.<\/p>\n<p>ESPN reporter Jenna Laine <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jennalaineespn\/status\/1432094392865669120?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">debunked<\/a> a similar claim from Republican Texas Sen. Only my signature appears. My father was 74 when he died. This is not difficult.
