They said it was much, much more protective than the Pfizer vaccine. Cleveland clinic did a study, same thing. Every single credible study always shows that it [natural immunity] provides good protection. And so that\u2019s just the reality.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo I don\u2019t support mandates at all, but if you\u2019re doing mandate based off this, if you were really following science, you would acknowledge this natural immunity,\u201d the Republican continued. \u201cAnd instead they ignore it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>DeSantis also slammed Biden for apparent exemptions to his mandates that are inconsistent with science.<\/p>\n<p>The Biden administration \u201cissuing this mandate for private-sector employees, but also for all federal employees, but they\u2019re exempting the post office. They\u2019re exempting members of Congress and members of Congress\u2019s staff. So how does that work?\u201d questioned DeSantis. \u201cCan someone explain the science to me behind exempting? First of all, I don\u2019t think the post office should be forced either, but if you\u2019re going to do a mandate and you say you\u2019re following science and you exempt a major part of the federal workforce, and then you exempt Congress and you exempt the staff of Congress.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I was in Congress, I actually proposed the 28th amendment,\u201d he said. \u201cCongress shouldn\u2019t make any law that doesn\u2019t apply to them and their staff. So those glaring exemptions. So if you\u2019re somebody who\u2019s working again, I don\u2019t think postal should be forced. Don\u2019t get me wrong. But Biden thinks everyone should be forced except you deliver mail somehow. That\u2019s fine. But if you\u2019re somebody \u2014 a nurse who\u2019s been working in the ICU for a private hospital for a year and a half treating COVID patients and likely has already had COVID then somehow you\u2019re going to get fired unless you follow the mandate. How does that make sense at all?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt doesn\u2019t, this is all political. It\u2019s all about using government.
