The indictments are part of an ongoing criminal investigation into the Trump Organization and its tax practices being conducted jointly by the New York <a class=\"css-1g7m0tk\" title href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/05\/28\/nyregion\/ny-trump-ag.html\">attorney general\u2019s<\/a> office and the Manhattan district attorney, The New York Times <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/05\/18\/nyregion\/trump-ny-ag-investigation-vance.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reported<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/explosive-interview-directly-implicates-donald-trump-in-tax-scheme\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Some<\/a> journalists and pundits <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2021\/jul\/13\/trump-organization-tax-crimes-charges\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">have<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/07\/01\/nyregion\/trump-organization-indictment.html?searchResultPosition=12\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">speculated<\/a> that the investigation may lead to Trump himself being indicted.<\/p>\n<p>One post shared on Facebook, however, claims Trump was recently \u201ccleared\u201d of all charges related to the case. \u201cWow, great news,\u201d reads the post.\u201dTrump cleared of all charges in New York tax cases.\u201d <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/07\/21\/fact-check-donald-trump-statement-tom-brady-shady\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Did Donald Trump Release A Statement Calling Tom Brady \u2018Shady\u2019?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This claim is inaccurate. In order for Trump to clear any charges against him in connection to the investigation, he would first need to have been charged with a crime.
