(Photo by Chip Somodevilla\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h5>OAN Newsroom<br \/>UPDATED 8:10 AM PT \u2013 Sunday, September 12, 2021<\/h5>\n<p>The FBI released the<a href=\"https:\/\/vault.fbi.gov\/9-11-attacks-investigation-and-related-materials\/9-11-material-released-in-response-to-executive-order-14040\/april-4-2016-electronic-communication-part-01-of-01\/view\"> first document<\/a> of several anticipated reports, which has detailed its investigation into the September 11 attacks. The release came late Saturday in time to mark 20 years since the terrorist attacks.<\/p>\n<p>The heavily redacted 16-page report, which was dated back to April 2016, has featured an interview with a U.S. citizenship applicant long suspected of providing support to two of the hijackers. The applicant was employed at the Saudi Arabian consulate in Southern California and was in contact with Saudi nationals who have been suspected of aiding the hijackers.<\/p>\n<p>However, the report failed to include conclusive evidence the Saudi government had a part in the attacks.
