They also provide a window into their apparent scramble to go on the offense against those who threatened to raise allegations that the company misrepresented its tests,\u201d Business Insider reported.<\/p>\n<p>The messages include the following, according to the outlet:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>\u201cYou are breeze in desert for me. My water. And ocean,\u201d Holmes wrote in one series of texts to Balwani.&nbsp;<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>\u201cMadly in love with you and your strength,\u201d Holmes texted Balwani later that evening.&nbsp;<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>\u201cCCed on you terrible negative review from someone from Newark lab probably bugs lab. Working on getting that removed,\u201d Balwani said in a text. \u201cI saw it. We\u2019ll get them,\u201d Holmes responded. (Theranos used to have a lab in Newark, California.)<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>\u201cFeel like the luckiest person in the world BC I have you,\u201d Holmes texted later that day.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>\u201cWe will come up with good response to the questions and we can turn this around,\u201d Balwani said in another message.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>\u201cNeed to get ahead of all of it. Out of al challenges are greatest opportunities,\u201d Holmes texted. \u201cOnce and for all transcend all the bs,\u201d she added later.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>\u201cAll my love,\u201d Balwani wrote. \u201cMissing you infinite,\u201d Holmes replied.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other texts show Holmes and Balwani apparently discussing how to undermine the claims from two Theranos whistleblowers \u2013 Tyler Shultz and Erika Cheung. The two also discussed how they would respond to reporting from The Wall Street Journal\u2019s John Carreyrou, who months later published a damning article showing that Theranos\u2019 machines could not perform the blood tests they claimed. Carreyrou\u2019s reporting revealed that Theranos was lying about its capabilities and using traditional blood analyzers to run most of its blood tests.<\/p>\n<p>Holmes and Balwani were eventually indicted on multiple fraud charges. As The Daily Wire previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/elizabeth-holmes-plans-to-accuse-ex-boyfriend-of-abuse-blame-that-for-theranos-fraud\">reported<\/a>, recently released court filings showed Holmes plans to accuse Balwani of emotional and sexual abuse, which her attorneys claim impaired her thinking at the time that she was defrauding patients and investors with Theranos.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis pattern of abuse and coercive control continued over the approximately decade-long duration of Ms. Holmes and Mr. Balwani\u2019s relationship, including during the period of the charged conspiracies,\u201d Holmes\u2019 attorneys wrote in one court filing.<\/p>\n<p>Cheryl Bader, a professor at Fordham Law School and a former assistant U.S. attorney, told Business Insider that the texts could hamper Holmes\u2019 planned defense, which is to accuse Balwani of abuse that impaired her judgment while she was running Theranos.<\/p>\n<p>The texts paint a picture of a couple who are loving, value each other\u2019s thoughts, and are mutually engaged in a common pursuit,\u201d Bader told the outlet. \u201cI think the jury will read these texts as evidence of a coequal partnership in a close and loving relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese texts are a strategic-planning thread peppered with expressions of affection and mutual admiration that the prosecution will argue undermines Holmes\u2019 claim that that she was being controlled and abused,\u201d Bader added. \u201cThe defense will caution the jury not to read too much into a text thread and may argue that if anything, it shows how devoted, dependent, and controlled Holmes was by Balwani.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In his excellent documentary, \u201cThe Inventor,\u201d filmmaker Alex Gibney revealed that while Balwani was considered a tyrant to those who worked for him, he was deferential to Holmes and always appeared supportive of her and firmly in the number 2 position at Theranos.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
