The caption reads, \u201cPhoto news: The one and only Aquatic Stadium in Nigeria reconstructed by Oyo State government led by a PDP Governor, Gov. Seyi Makinde.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The post references <a href=\"https:\/\/seyimakinde.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Seyi Makinde<\/a>, a member of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.britannica.com\/topic\/Peoples-Democratic-Party-political-party-Nigeria\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">People\u2019s Democratic Party<\/a> who <a href=\"https:\/\/upgrade.oyostate.gov.ng\/meet-gov-seyi-makinde\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">serves<\/a> as the governor of the southwestern Nigerian state of Oyo. The state government recently renovated the Lekan Salami Sports Complex in Ibadan, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.britannica.com\/place\/Oyo-state-Nigeria\">capital city<\/a> of the state, the Nigerian daily newspaper <a href=\"https:\/\/punchng.com\/oyo-begins-n5-5bn-upgrade-of-lekan-salami-stadium\/\">The Punch<\/a> reported. The newly-renovated stadium was unveiled for a Sept. 1 soccer match, according to a video of the match shared by the Oyo state government\u2019s verified <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/OyoStateGovernment\/videos\/1171189306736856\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/OyoStateGovernment\/videos\/1171189306736856\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1631370465143000&amp;usg=AFQjCNGQHcqLQHqAwApBgQPwgi7js4VFSw\">Facebook page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The images in the Facebook post, however, do not show the Lekan Salami Sports Complex experiencing flooding. A reverse image search revealed they actually depict a stadium in England. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2020\/08\/27\/fact-check-flash-floods-kenya-cattle-mexico\/\">(RELATED: Does This Video Show Flash Floods In Kenya Washing Away Cattle?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The first picture showing a wide shot of a flooded soccer stadium can be found in a June 2007 article from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/sport\/football\/article-464478\/Bring-sub-Sheffield-Wednesdays-pitch-submerged-flood-water.html\">Daily Mail<\/a> titled, \u201cBring on the sub: Sheffield Wednesday\u2019s pitch submerged by flood water.\u201d The article explains the photo shows Hillsborough Stadium in Sheffield, England, after it flooded when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/Hillsborough+Stadium\/@53.4114062,-1.5006157,15z\/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0xa31a5da64657f2fc!8m2!3d53.4114062!4d-1.5006157\">nearby<\/a> River Don surged past its banks that year. Metro.co.uk <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2007\/06\/26\/hillsborough-swamped-by-flood-474709\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">also published<\/a> a similar photo in June 2007 of Hillsborough Stadium flooded in which the same owl logo can be seen on the seats.<\/p>\n<p>The second photo can be found&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.owlstalk.co.uk\/forums\/topic\/249024-when-sheffield-wednesdays-hillsborough-ground-got-flooded\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">posted<\/a> in January 2017 on OwlsTalk, an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.owlstalk.co.uk\/forums\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">online forum<\/a> dedicated to discussing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swfc.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sheffield Wednesday<\/a>, the soccer team that plays at Hillsborough Stadium. Sheffield Wednesday\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swfc.co.uk\/commercial\/mascots\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">mascot<\/a> is an owl.
