Andy Beshear. The mask mandate was repealed as cases in the state increased for the 10th straight week, and as over 30% of Kentucky\u2019s new cases Thursday were in people 18 and younger, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/govstatus.egov.com\/ky-covid-data-dashboard\">state data<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The legislature last month moved to significantly limit Beshear\u2019s pandemic-related power, an action that was <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/08\/20\/william-bertelsman-restraining-order-kentucky-andy-beshear-mask-mandate-tyranny\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">upheld<\/a> by multiple judges in the state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe executive branch cannot simply ignore laws passed by the duly-elected representatives of the citizens of the Commonwealth of Kentucky,\u201d one federal judge wrote in response to a mask mandate Beshear implemented.&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/03\/09\/kentucky-bars-restaurants-sue-governor-lockdowns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Bars, Restaurants Sue Beshear Over COVID Lockdowns)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7264960\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" readability=\"33\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7264960\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-7264960 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/GettyImages-1232548260-scaled-1.jpg\" alt=\"Kentucky Gov. (Jon Cherry\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Instead of state-implemented mandates, individual districts will have the option to enforce them if they so choose.<\/p>\n<p>Lawmakers also imposed bans on state vaccine mandates for hospital workers or any future vaccine mandates, giving local governments and private businesses the sole power to do either.<\/p>\n<p>The veto override came just hours after President Joe Biden announced his administration would mandate the vaccine for <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/09\/09\/joe-biden-require-private-companies-100-more-employees-mandate-vaccines-weekly-testing-coronavirus\/\">companies<\/a> with more than 100 employees and for <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/09\/09\/biden-white-house-federal-workers-contractors-vaccine-mandate-coronavirus-pandemic\/\">federal workers and contractors<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Content created by The Daily Caller News Foundation is available without charge to any eligible news publisher that can provide a large audience.
