(Andrew Harnik\/AP Photo)<\/figure>\n<p>The mandate, imposed by the administration on Feb. 2, is currently in place until Jan. 18, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Biden directed the Department of Homeland Security, which includes the administration, to double the fines as part of a fresh plan to try to curb the Delta variant of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/giving-the-right-name-to-the-virus-causing-a-worldwide-pandemic-2_3277200.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus<\/a>, which causes COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>While campaigning last year, Biden promised to stop the virus when he entered office.
