On Thursday at the White House, the U.S. restarted economic talks with Mexico in hopes of pursuing an improved economic relationship.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMexico\u2019s economic stability is in the interest of the United States,\u201d stated Harris who said the meeting posed as a follow up to the previous meeting with Mexico\u2019s president in June.<\/p>\n<p>Harris emphasized the importance of both nations dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change and cyber threats.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMexico is our closest neighbor\u2026and a strategic partner and one of our most important economic relationships,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">TRADE: Vice President Kamala Harris opens a high-level economic dialogue with Mexico. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ziILhQfhNk\">pic.twitter.com\/ziILhQfhNk<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Forbes (@Forbes) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Forbes\/status\/1436080231383773185?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 9, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Before the meeting, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said his advisors would push the Biden administration to offer temporary work visas for Central Americans.
