Reports said the administration has until Thursday to review applications for around 6.5 million products from more than 500 different companies in order to determine if their products are in the interest of public health.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe FDA\u2019s opaque review process was intentionally designed to eliminate all but the largest players from the market,\u201d said American Vaping Association President Gregory Conley. \u201cWe look forward to lending our support to future court challenges.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Manufacturers were asked to submit evidence showing their products were less harmful than cigarettes and that they helped smokers stop smoking. The FDA has already denied around 55,000 applications from smaller manufacturers, mostly centered around flavored vape products, which have been the focus of much of the public\u2019s concern.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s more work to be done to complete our remaining reviews and ensure that we continue taking appropriate action to protect our nation\u2019s youth from the dangers of all tobacco products, including e-cigarettes,\u201d said the FDA in a statement.
