Vought was serving as a Member of the Board of Visitors to the U.S. Naval Academy; he was appointed in December 20 by former President Trump.<\/p>\n<p>Vought fired back succinctly on Twitter, \u201cNo. It\u2019s a three year term.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"4.2434782608696\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">No. It\u2019s a three year term. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WhiteHouse?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@WhiteHouse<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/c9pZOENNPR\">pic.twitter.com\/c9pZOENNPR<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Russ Vought (@russvought) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/russvought\/status\/1435634747854688262?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 8, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Vought also serves as the president of the Center for Renewing America. When he filed the Freedom of Information Act request in July, he told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/critical-race-theory-biden-administration-russ-vought-investigation\">Fox News<\/a>, \u201cThe American people deserve to know who at the highest levels in the White House pushed this radical, racist group into reopening guidelines for our schools. It\u2019s extremely troubling that Biden\u2019s&nbsp;Department of Education promotes a group that accuses children of \u2018spirit murdering\u2019 other children based on their skin color. This Administration has made an Olympic sport out of State Sanctioned Racism and it\u2019s about time the curtain gets pulled back.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s Department of Education linked to a guide by the Abolitionist Teaching Network which states, \u201cAbolitionist Teachers\u201d should \u201c[b]uild a school culture that engages in healing and advocacy. This requires a commitment to learning from students, families, and educators who disrupt Whiteness and other forms of oppression.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Biden Department of Education\u2019s Deputy Secretary, Cindy Marten, reportedly hosted Abolitionist Teaching Network founder Bettina Love for a training seminar when Marten served as superintendent of the San Diego Unified School District. Investigative reporter Christopher Rufo <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/biden-picks-a-second-sympathizer-of-critical-race-theory-for-ed-dept\/\">wrote<\/a>, \u201cAccording to whistleblower documents, Martens personally introduced the speaker, Bettina Love, and praised her presentation about \u2018spirit murder,\u2019 \u2018antiracist therapy,\u2019 and \u2018abolitionist teaching\u2019\u201d when Love was a featured speaker at a training program last August.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rufo noted that a whistleblower \u201ctook detailed notes of the speech and captured screenshots of the presentation\u201d despite the district\u2019s ban on attendees from recording the session. He continued, \u201cAccording to these notes, Love began her presentation by claiming that \u2018racism runs deep\u2019 in the United States and that blacks alone \u2018know who America really is.\u2019 She argued that public schools in particular \u2018don\u2019t see [blacks] as human,\u2019 are guilty of systemic \u2018anti-Blackness,\u2019 and \u2018spirit murder babies\u2019 in the education system.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the end of her presentation, Love told the teachers that whites are directly responsible for the plight of \u2018dark children,\u2019\u201d Rufo reported, adding that a slide labeled \u201cTeacher Education Gap\u201d stated, \u201cWhiteness reproduces poverty, failing schools, high unemployment, school closings, and trauma for people of color.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe documents Vought requested Wednesday could show deeper ties between the Abolitionist Teaching Network and the Biden administration,\u201d Fox News opined in July.<\/p>\n<p>In 2020, as chief of the Office of Management and Budget, Vought wrote a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/M-20-37.pdf\">memo<\/a> outlining steps to be taken vis-\u00e0-vis federal worker \u201ctraining sessions\u201d that incorporated critical race theory and harped on \u201cwhite privilege\u201d:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"15\">\n<p><em>On September 4, 2020, M-20-34 was issued at the President\u2019s direction, which states in part, \u201cThe President, and his Administration, are fully committed to the fair and equal treatment of all individuals in the United States.\u201d M-20-34 alerted agencies that some Federal worker \u201ctraining\u201d sessions are being held\u00ad at taxpayer expense \u2013 that demonstrably undermine this core American principle by stereotyping and scapegoating specific groups of people. These divisive trainings constitute a malign subset of a larger pool of Federal agency trainings held to promote diversity and inclusiveness. The sort of training at issue does neither; it sows division among the workforce by attempting to prescribe and impose upon employees a conformity of belief in ideologies that label entire groups of Americans as inherently racist or evil (e.g., critical race theory).<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Vought suggested that agencies:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"15\">\n<p><em>Review these trainings to determine whether they teach, advocate, or promote the divisive concepts specified in the Executive Order on Combating Race and Sex Stereotyping (e.g., that the United States is fundamentally racist or sexist or that an individual, by virtue of his or her race or sex, is inherently racist, sexist, or oppressive).<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Vought&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/trump-ends-critical-race-theory-training-federal-employees\">banned<\/a>&nbsp;federal agencies from using funding for training that used Critical Race Theory.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
