Only 29 percent said their personal finances are better off today than they were a year ago, and 65 percent believe that Biden\u2019s multitrillion-dollar plan will worsen inflation.<\/p>\n<p>The Biden administration has made a concerted effort to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2021\/08\/31\/biden-move-past-afghanistan-fiasco-507865\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2021\/08\/31\/biden-move-past-afghanistan-fiasco-507865&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1631208767710000&amp;usg=AFQjCNFpdMPwnp6LnUAwuCjKjCfijcV3vA\" data-mt-detrack-inspected=\"true\">pivot to domestic policies<\/a> this week. The White House press briefing on Wednesday opened with a discussion of plans to tackle inflation and an explanation by Biden&#8217;s top economic aide Brian Deese that the spike in grocery prices was overblown. The administration also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/usa-meat-biden\/biden-administration-plans-tougher-action-to-rein-in-meat-prices-idUSL1N2QA1L3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">released a plan<\/a> that it said will alleviate the rising costs of meat, which it believes is driving inflation concerns.<\/p>\n<p>Biden&#8217;s pivot to domestic issues comes in the wake of the administration\u2019s bungled withdrawal from Afghanistan, which <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/national-security\/29-american-schoolchildren-stranded-in-afghanistan-school-district-says\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">left<\/a> hundreds of Americans\u2014including dozens of elementary school students\u2014stranded. Polling suggests, however, that prioritizing trillions of dollars in social spending is already unpopular with voters, who fear it will exacerbate inflation even further.<\/p>\n<p>The Heritage Action poll is one of many showing Biden faces headwinds as he seeks to pivot to his multitrillion-dollar Build Back Better agenda.<\/p>\n<p>The American Action Network, a conservative outside group closely aligned with House Republicans, also polled seven swing House districts held by Democrats and found that Biden\u2019s personal image and political agenda are deeply unpopular.<\/p>\n<p>Across the seven districts, AAN <a href=\"https:\/\/americanactionnetwork.org\/press\/new-aan-district-polling-biden-sagging-build-back-better-agenda-toxic-in-americas-middle-districts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/americanactionnetwork.org\/press\/new-aan-district-polling-biden-sagging-build-back-better-agenda-toxic-in-americas-middle-districts\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1631208767710000&amp;usg=AFQjCNFmdyL9tyvKPhMf7l_Dkkq6IEyphQ\" data-mt-detrack-inspected=\"true\">found<\/a> that Biden\u2019s job approval is 43 percent. The swing-district Democrats they polled, including Reps. Elissa Slotkin (D., Mich.) and Josh Harder (D., Calif.), &#8220;are all hovering at or near 45 percent in a head-to-head congressional ballot.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Biden administration also faces political challenges advancing the president&#8217;s domestic agenda through Congress. Sen. Joe Manchin (D., W.Va.) this week repeated his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/scoop-manchin-backs-as-little-as-1-trillion-of-bidens-35-trillion-plan-91d079e0-84a7-4f8f-94d4-212827a61339.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.axios.com\/scoop-manchin-backs-as-little-as-1-trillion-of-bidens-35-trillion-plan-91d079e0-84a7-4f8f-94d4-212827a61339.html&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1631208767710000&amp;usg=AFQjCNH0C0Kwc3_pXLZQJ61lvVUFRPRtxA\" data-mt-detrack-inspected=\"true\">opposition<\/a> to Biden\u2019s proposed $3.5 trillion in social spending, and Sen.
