(Photo credit should read HECTOR GUERRERO\/AFP via Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p data-el=\"text\">Mexico\u2019s conservative National Action Party condemned pro-abortion arguments ahead of the court\u2019s decision, WaPo reported.<\/p>\n<p data-el=\"text\">\u201cWe are in favor of defending life from the moment of conception until natural death,\u201d the party said in a statement, calling for more adoption services and more help for pregnant women.&nbsp; <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/07\/28\/mexico-abortion-bishops-catholic-veracruz\/\">(RELATED:&nbsp;Bishops Condemn Abortion As Mexican Supreme Court Takes Up Abortion Case)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-el=\"text\">Four Latin American countries allow abortions under almost all circumstances \u2014 Cuba, Argentina, Uruguay, and Guyana \u2014 and four of the 32 Mexican federal entities have legalized abortion \u2014 Oaxaca, Veracruz, Hidalgo and Mexico City, according to WaPo.<\/p>\n<p data-el=\"text\">Women accused of aborting an unborn baby in El Salvador <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/world\/2021\/06\/08\/elsalvador-abortion-woman-released\/?itid=lk_inline_manual_13\">can be prosecuted<\/a> on homicide or assault charges and face prison time.<\/p>\n<p data-el=\"text\">A&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pewforum.org\/2014\/11\/13\/chapter-5-social-attitudes\/\">2014 Pew Research center study<\/a> found most Latin Americans were opposed to legal abortion: 95% of those in Paraguay, 92% of those in Guatemala, 89% of those in El Salvador opposed legal abortion, and 67% of those in Mexico, 49% of those in Chile, and 43% of those in Uruguay opposed legal abortion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe survey finds that across Latin America, men and women are about equally likely to oppose legal abortion, as are older and younger adults,\u201d Pew Research Center reported.<\/p>\n<p>Content created by The Daily Caller News Foundation is available without charge to any eligible news publisher that can provide a large audience.
