After Boylan first made her accusations, David, who until 2019 was Cuomo&#8217;s chief counsel, sent Boylan&#8217;s personnel file to Cuomo aides, who then leaked it to the media. He also advised the administration on an op-ed that Cuomo&#8217;s staffers wrote to discredit Boylan.<\/p>\n<p>David, who refused to resign after the report, blasted his former employer in a Tuesday statement, saying the group&#8217;s board members have &#8220;elected to hide in darkness.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" readability=\"4.785046728972\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Update from Alphonso David <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/PAtqcEwvBg\">pic.twitter.com\/PAtqcEwvBg<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Alphonso David (@AlphonsoDavid) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AlphonsoDavid\/status\/1435090525145616386?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 7, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Expect a legal challenge,&#8221; David wrote.<\/p>\n<p>David is not the only leader of a prominent left-wing group to face a reckoning over the Cuomo scandal.<\/p>\n<p>The cofounders of Time&#8217;s Up, a feminist #MeToo organization with deep ties to the Democratic Party, <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/democrats\/cuomo-wasnt-the-first-times-up-leaders-have-history-of-covering-up-liberal-scandals\/\">resigned<\/a> this month following reports that they also helped Cuomo try to discredit Boylan.<\/p>\n<p>The Human Rights Campaign boasts Apple, Google, Amazon, and Pfizer, among other companies, as corporate backers.
