The country\u2019s full allocation is more than 1.5 billion euros,\u201d the outlet explained.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Several areas and towns in Poland have said that they are \u201cfree of LGBTQ ideology\u201d in order to reportedly push back on allowing events like pride parades from occurring in their areas.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The outlet reported that as of the middle of last year, \u201calmost a third of municipalities in the Catholic country of 38 million people had adopted the declaration \u2014 often after lobbying from ultra-conservative groups.\u201d Multiple courts in Poland have reportedly said that the acts are unconstitutional.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>As <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/international\/europe\/570960-eu-threatens-to-withhold-150m-in-aid-from-poland-over-anti-lgbtq\">reported<\/a> by The Hill, \u201cA spokesperson for the Commission confirmed to The Hill that it sent letters to the provinces on Friday, warning them to comply with the agency\u2019s formal notice sent July 15.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In July, the European Commission released a <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/commission\/presscorner\/detail\/en\/ip_21_3668\"><span class=\"s1\">statement<\/span><\/a> saying it was \u201claunching infringement procedures against Hungary and Poland related to the equality and the protection of fundamental rights.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cIn relation to Poland, the Commission considers that Polish authorities failed to fully and appropriately respond to its inquiry regarding the nature and impact of the so-called \u2018LGBT-ideology free zones\u2019 resolutions adopted by several Polish regions and municipalities,\u201d the statement explained.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The Commission also took issue with Hungary\u2019s actions earlier this year to pass a law that prohibits showing LGBT and transgender content to minors.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The July statement explained:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"11\">\n<p class=\"p1\"><em>On 23 June 2021, Hungary published a law that lays down a number of restrictive and discriminatory measures; in particular, it prohibits or limits access to content that propagates or portrays the so-called \u2018divergence from self-identity corresponding to sex at birth, sex change or homosexuality\u2019 for individuals under 18.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\">It added that the two Member States had \u201ctwo months to respond to the arguments put forward by the Commission. Otherwise, the Commission may decide to send them a reasoned opinion and in a further step refer them to the Court of Justice of the European Union.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">As The Daily Wire previously&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/hungarian-parliament-passes-law-banning-showing-lgbt-content-to-minors\"><span class=\"s1\">reported<\/span><\/a>, lawmakers in Hungary passed a law earlier this year that would prohibit showing LGBT and transgender content to minors as part of legislation to combat pedophilia.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The bill reportedly primarily centered on combatting pedophilia by increasing sentences for sex crimes committed against children. It also established a public database of sex offenders, per&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/06\/15\/world\/europe\/hungary-child-sex-lgbtq.html\"><span class=\"s1\">The New York Times<\/span><\/a>. However, it had amendments \u201cthat ban the representation of any sexual orientation besides heterosexual as well as gender change information in school sex education programs, or in films and advertisements aimed at anyone under 18,\u201d according to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2021\/06\/15\/1006662043\/hungary-lawmakers-pass-law-barring-lgbt-content-for-minors\"><span class=\"s1\">NPR<\/span><\/a>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">As The Daily Wire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/grotesque-e-u-members-condemn-hungary-law-that-bans-showing-lgbt-content-to-minors\"><span class=\"s1\">reported<\/span><\/a>, however, Hungary faced backlash from members of the European Union after passing the law that many called discriminatory.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cGermany, the Netherlands, Sweden, France and Ireland were among European Union countries\u201d speaking out against Hungary on Tuesday for its new law on LGBT content, as Reuters&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/europe\/hungarys-new-lgbt-law-contradicts-eu-values-germany-says-2021-06-22\/\"><span class=\"s1\">reported<\/span><\/a> at the time. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cThe new law banning the \u2018display and promotion of homosexuality\u2019 among under-18s clearly violates European Union values, Germany\u2019s European affairs minister said ahead of talks with his 27 EU counterparts about deep concerns that Hungary and Poland violate the rule of law by trampling the freedoms of courts, academics and media, as well as restricting the rights of women, migrants and minorities,\u201d the outlet said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Hungary\u2019s Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said at the time that the legislation was only directed at pedophiles.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cThe law protects the children in a way that it makes it an exclusive right of the parents to educate their kids regarding sexual orientation until the age of 18,\u201d he said. \u201cThis law doesn\u2019t say anything about sexual orientation of adults.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><i>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
