The claim originated from a website that says it publishes satire.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/amfeltner\/posts\/10218692640803568\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sept. 1 post<\/a> making the claim includes additional text that reads, \u201cElements of the U.S. military working under JAG authority arrested Hunter Biden on Monday morning as he and two underage companions tried to reenter the United States.\u201d JAG stands for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.virginia.edu\/public-service\/judge-advocate-general-faqs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Judge Advocate General\u2019s Corps<\/a>. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/08\/26\/fact-check-jill-biden-not-arrested-elder-abuse\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: No, Jill Biden Was Not Arrested For Elder Abuse)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Neither the <a href=\"https:\/\/search.justice.gov\/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&amp;affiliate=justice&amp;sort_by=&amp;query=hunter+biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Justice Department<\/a> nor the <a href=\"https:\/\/search.usa.gov\/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&amp;affiliate=defensegov&amp;sort_by=&amp;query=hunter+biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Department of Defense<\/a> has put out a press release about Biden being arrested by the military. An incident to that effect would likely prompt a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">statement<\/a> from the White House as well. Had the president\u2019s son been arrested at the airport on Monday, it would have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=military+arrest+hunter+biden&amp;rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS966US966&amp;oq=military+arrest+hunter+biden&amp;aqs=chrome..69i57j69i60l3.4772j0j9&amp;sourceid=chrome&amp;ie=UTF-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">garnered coverage<\/a> from national news outlets.<\/p>\n<p>The text in the Facebook post matches the headline and first sentence of an <a href=\"https:\/\/realrawnews.com\/2021\/08\/military-arrests-hunter-biden\/?fbclid=IwAR0PggooN3lfrxtm527WvWD_TDIlTRscOFyvz5gkHYTxrFstCKxTYP-i0Ec\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Aug. 30 article<\/a> published by Real Raw News. The website Real Raw News states on <a href=\"https:\/\/realrawnews.com\/about-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">its \u201cAbout Us\u201d page<\/a> that it contains \u201chumor, parody, and satire.\u201d While Real Raw News includes that Disclaimer, the Facebook post fails to issue a similar warning, portraying the story as real news.<\/p>\n<p>Check Your Fact previously debunked rumors about Microsoft co-founder <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/profile\/bill-gates\/?sh=4708d5fd689f\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bill Gates<\/a>, former White House chief of staff <a href=\"https:\/\/www.americanprogress.org\/person\/podesta-john\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">John Podesta<\/a> and former Hillary Clinton aide <a href=\"https:\/\/ballotpedia.org\/Huma_Abedin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Huma Abedin<\/a> being arrested by the U.S. military.
