Chief Justice John Roberts joined the court\u2019s three liberal justices in dissent, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/supreme-court-declines-to-block-texas-6-week-abortion-ban\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CBS News<\/a> reported. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/05\/17\/supreme-court-abortion-case-mississippi-roe-wade-dobbs-jackson-womens-health\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Supreme Court Takes Up Major Abortion Case Directly Challenging Roe V. In particular, this order is not based on any conclusion about the constitutionality of Texas\u2019 law, and in no way limits other procedurally proper challenges to the Texas law, including in Texas state courts,\u201d the majority opinion stated, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/opinions\/20pdf\/21a24_8759.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Supreme Court<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Justices Sotomayor, Breyer, and Kagan wrote a dissent in which they claimed that the law is unconstitutional. \u201cPresented with an application to enjoin a flagrantly unconstitutional law engineered to prohibit women from exercising their constitutional rights and evade judicial scrutiny, a majority of justices have opted to bury their heads in the sand,\u201d they wrote.<\/p>\n<p>The new law is the most restrictive <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/03\/09\/arkansas-governor-asa-hutchinson-abortion-ban-law-supreme-court-roe-wade\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">abortion ban<\/a> in the U.S., CBS News reported.
