Wade Wednesday, reiterating President Joe Biden\u2019s calls for the codification of the landmark abortion ruling.<\/p>\n<p>Reporters repeatedly questioned the White House press secretary about Texas\u2019 new law, which went into effect at midnight Wednesday unhampered by any action from the Supreme Court, though abortion providers had filed emergency requests to block its enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe step that can be taken is the codification of Roe,\u201d she said, \u201csomething the president and the vice president have called for, and would require Congress to act on.\u201d <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/09\/01\/biden-texas-abortion-ban\/\">(RELATED: Biden Says Pro-Life Texas Law \u2018Blatantly Violates\u2019 Roe v. Wade)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is not the first threat to Roe that we\u2019ve seen across the country,\u201d she continued. \u201cIt\u2019s an extreme threat. Again, I would just note, this is offering up to $10,000 to individuals who report someone who is going to get an abortion. That is what we\u2019re talking about here. And beyond that, as I\u2019ve outlined.
