The Supreme Court did not intervene, though it still may do so. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/08\/31\/judge-temporary-restraining-order-texas-heartbeat-act\/\">(RELATED: Judge Grants Temporary Restraining Order Partially Blocking Enforcement Of Texas Heartbeat Act)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s past midnight now in Texas,\u201d Live Action founder and president Lila Rose <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LilaGraceRose\/status\/1432935206374166535\">tweeted early Wednesday morning<\/a>. \u201cThe Heartbeat Law has gone into effect. Every child with a detectable heartbeat is legally protected from being killed by abortion. Meachum\u2019s order enjoined \u201cthe Injunctive Defendants, and any and all parties in active concert and participation with them, from instituting any private enforcement lawsuits against Plaintiff under SB8.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The order expires Sept. 14, and the defendants are Texas Right to Life and Texas Right to Life Legislative Director John Seago.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat ultimately happens to this law remains to be seen,\u201d CNN Supreme Court analyst and University of Texas Law School professor Steve Vladeck <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/09\/01\/politics\/texas-abortion-supreme-court-sb8-roe-wade\/index.html\">said<\/a>, \u201cbut now through their inaction the justices have let the tightest abortion restriction since <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2013\/11\/04\/us\/roe-v-wade-fast-facts\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Roe v. Wade<\/a>&nbsp;be enforced for at least some period of time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/08\/23\/attorney-lawsuit-texas-abortion-law\/\">law<\/a>, which makes exceptions for medical emergencies but not in cases of rape or incest, has raised the ire of pro-abortion advocates as it allows \u201cany person\u201d to sue doctors, abortion clinics, or anyone who \u201cknowingly engages in conduct that aids or abets the performance or inducement of an abortion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Those who sue over an abortion may be awarded $10,000 \u201cfor each abortion\u201d the defendant performed, induced, aided, or abetted in violation of the law \u2014 monetary amounts that some pro-abortion advocates are <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JoyAnnReid\/status\/1414556649004703748?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">calling<\/a>&nbsp;\u201cbounties.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Center for Reproductive Rights President Nancy Northrop&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/08\/30\/politics\/abortion-texas-supreme-court\/index.html\">warned<\/a>&nbsp;Monday that if the law is not blocked within the next two days, \u201cTexas politicians will have effectively overturned Roe v.
