The province sits between Pakistan and Afghanistan&#8217;s capital, Kabul, making it a growing hotspot for Taliban activity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Al-Haq is a longtime al Qaeda leader whose Black Guard <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.longwarjournal.org\/archives\/2006\/09\/the_black_guards.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>served<\/span><\/a><span> as the terrorist group\u2019s &#8220;praetorian guard designated to protect Osama bin Laden.&#8221; Guard members took a blood oath to defend bin Laden and were highly trained in combat. The 9\/11 architect reportedly hand-picked squad leaders\u2014such as al-Haq\u2014for the guard.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Bill Roggio, senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies and editor of <\/span><i><span>Long War Journal<\/span><\/i><span>, said the video shows increasing ambition from al Qaeda operatives since the Taliban seized control of Afghanistan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&#8220;The video of al-Haq is evidence that al Qaeda commanders now feel secure enough to appear publicly in a Taliban-controlled Afghanistan,&#8221; Roggio <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.longwarjournal.org\/archives\/2021\/08\/osama-bin-ladens-security-chief-triumphantly-returns-to-hometown-in-afghanistan.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>wrote<\/span><\/a><span>. &#8220;The confidence to travel and operate out in the open\u2014in plain sight for the first time in a decade\u2014speaks to the marked change in Afghanistan over the last month.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Taliban continues to work with al Qaeda-linked terrorists, raising concern about the deadly terrorist group\u2019s threat to the United States. The Haqqani network is responsible for deadly attacks in Afghanistan and abroad that have <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.today\/20120717175624\/http:\/\/www.armytimes.com\/news\/2011\/09\/ap-afghanistan-us-says-haqqani-behind-bombing-091211\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>resulted<\/span><\/a><span> in U.S. troop casualties.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&#8220;The Haqqanis expose the lie that there is a line between Taliban and other jihadist groups, especially al Qaeda,&#8221;&nbsp;<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/in-taliban-ruled-afghanistan-al-qaeda-linked-haqqani-network-rises-to-power-11629990056\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>said<\/span><\/a><span> H.R.
