The guidelines released earlier this week are intended to offer alternative terms for words like \u201cinmate,\u201d \u201calcoholics\u201d and \u201cdrug-user.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It has instead suggested saying \u201cpersons who are detained,\u201d \u201cpersons with alcohol use disorder\u201d and \u201cpeople who inject drugs.\u201d Other terms include \u201cself-reported income in the lowest bracket\u201d instead of \u201cpoor\u201d or \u201cyet to receive inoculation\u201d for those who refuse the vaccine.<\/p>\n<p>The CDC\u2019s guide suggests, \u201clanguage in communication products should reflect and speak to the needs of people in the audience of focus.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Are you using <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/inclusive?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#inclusive<\/a> language?
