According to fire officials, over 1,700 people are currently assigned to the Caldor Fire.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn fact, the frequency of these fires is outpacing last year\u2019s record-breaking season, which saw over 4 million acres burned,\u201d stated Los Angeles Fire Department Chief, Ralph Terrazas.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Terrazas urged residents in the affected areas to begin bracing themselves for the potential of future blazes. \u201cTherefore, it is now more critical than ever that the people of Southern California become prepared for wildfires,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/CaldorFire?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#CaldorFire<\/a> near Little Mountain, south of Pollock Pines in El Dorado County is 156,515 acres and 19% contained. The department also confirmed the fire is only 19 percent contained as it continues to make its way towards the Lake Tahoe resort region.<\/p>\n<p>South Lake Tahoe\u2019s city manager issued an emergency proclamation last week, warning residents to be prepared for possibly evacuation orders.
