A review of the White House\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/\">press releases<\/a> also turned up no mention of Jill Biden being arrested.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Jill Biden has been <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FLOTUS\">active<\/a> on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/flotus\/\">social<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/FLOTUS\/\">media<\/a> in the days following the post alleging she was arrested. For instance, she <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FLOTUS\/status\/1430343814414311424\">posted a photo<\/a> on Aug. 24 of the White House lit up with red, white and blue in support of the Paralympics on Twitter. On Aug. 13, the day the Facebook post claimed she was arrested, the first lady was photographed wearing a walking boot and using a crutch after a foot surgery, <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/politics\/jill-biden-seen-publicly-for-the-first-time-since-foot-injury\/\">People Magazine<\/a> reported. An Aug. 21 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gettyimages.com\/detail\/news-photo\/president-joe-biden-and-first-lady-jill-biden-arrive-at-the-news-photo\/1234798722?adppopup=true\">Getty Images<\/a> photo shows her exiting a car in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n<p>Had Jill Biden actually been arrested for elder abuse, media outlets certainly would have reported on it, yet <a href=\"https:\/\/news.google.com\/search?q=jill%20biden%20arrested&amp;hl=en-US&amp;gl=US&amp;ceid=US%3Aen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">none<\/a> have.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/08\/19\/fact-check-andrew-cuomo-arrested-military\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Was Andrew Cuomo Arrested By The Military?)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The claim appears to stem from <a href=\"https:\/\/genesiustimes.com\/breaking-jill-biden-arrested-for-elderly-abuse\/\">an article<\/a> published by the Genesius Times in 2020 bearing the headline: \u201cBREAKING: Jill Biden arrested for elderly abuse.\u201d The article seemingly pokes fun of President Joe Biden\u2019s age. While Genesius Times clearly <a href=\"https:\/\/genesiustimes.com\/\">disclaims<\/a> the satirical nature of its content with a warning reading, \u201cThe most reliable source of fake news on the planet,\u201d the Facebook post does not, seemingly passing the information off as genuine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A post shared on Facebook claims First Lady Jill Biden was arrested for elder abuse.Verdict: False There is no evidence that the first lady was arrested for elder abuse.
