Davis\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h5>OAN Newsroom<br \/>\nUPDATED 1:35 PM PT \u2013 Friday, January 8, 2021<\/h5>\n<p>Republicans expressed outrage with the mainstream media for suggesting a &#8220;cleansing&#8221; of the 75 million voters who supported President Trump.<\/p>\n<p>During an interview on Thursday, ABC&#8217;s Political Director Rick Klein expressed concern about threats against the media as violent protesters overwhelmed the Capitol building earlier this week.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I was aghast, I was saddened, I was disgusted by the violence that I saw,&#8221; Rick Klein stated. &#8220;Yes, a part of it was at least the violence inflicted on the equipment of the media and the threats that were scrawled on walls. I find it enormously distressing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>While many have condemned the violence, some are saying Klein took his frustrations too far.<\/p>\n<p>In a since deleted tweet posted Thursday, Klein shared an article and wrote, &#8220;Trump will be an ex-president in 13 days. The fact is that getting rid of Trump is the easy part. Cleansing the movement he commands is going to be something else.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>His comments were met with immediate backlash, with many pointing out the mainstream media&#8217;s hypocrisy for defending the same type of violence at BLM protests all summer long.<\/p>\n<p>Sebastian Gorka, former deputy assistant to the President, fired back against Klein&#8217;s Twitter post, calling him a fascist and asking why ABC is ok with targeting Republicans.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Didn\u2019t fascists \u201ccleanse\u201d their enemies?<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s what <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/rickklein?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@rickklein<\/a> is calling for. <\/p>\n<p>Guess that makes him a fascist too. <\/p>\n<p>Why is <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ABC?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@ABC<\/a> good with that? <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ZhgzhYWWRp\">https:\/\/t.co\/ZhgzhYWWRp<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Sebastian Gorka DrG (@SebGorka) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SebGorka\/status\/1347270807123341313?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 7, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Klein has since re-posted the article with a different comment, but has not recanted his original statement.<\/p>\n<h4>MORE NEWS: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oann.com\/kamala-harris-condemns-d-c-demonstrators-despite-past-encouragement-of-violent-blm-mobs\/\">Kamala Harris Condemns D.C.
