During his comments at the forum, McAuliffe explained that in order to stop the pandemic, government would need to enact vaccine mandates or otherwise make it difficult to function in society if unvaccinated.<\/p>\n<p>McAuliffe began by saying \u201cWe have 93 million Americans today that are not vaccinated,\u201d and that \u201cWe need to do everything that we possibly can\u201d to decrease that number, before suggesting the next variant or strain could be \u201cresistant to vaccines.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He then spoke about what he tells private businesses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I tell my private businesses all the time: \u2018I hope you mandate vaccines for people coming in,\u2019\u201d McAuliffe said. \u201cUntil we&nbsp;make it hard for people get on planes or go to movie theaters, people just aren\u2019t going to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>McAuliffe was joined on stage by former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, a Republican to discuss COVID-19 and vaccines. Later on in the discussion, McAuliffe suggested making \u201clife difficult\u201d for the unvaccinated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re not going door-to-door, but you make life difficult,\u201d McAuliffe said after accusing Christie of bringing \u201cthis crazy right-wing ideology\u201d into the discussion for suggesting we shouldn\u2019t pass laws we can\u2019t enforce.<\/p>\n<p>Christie made the comments regarding vaccine mandates, saying you can\u2019t enforce a law that tells people, hypothetically, to get vaccinated in seven days. As Christie explained, there wouldn\u2019t be a constitutional way for the government to know who didn\u2019t get vaccinated.<\/p>\n<p>McAuliffe is not the only politician to suggest or left-leaning personality so make such a suggestion regarding vaccines. As The Daily Wire previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/cnn-medical-expert-urges-we-must-make-life-hard-for-unvaccinated-test-them-twice-weekly\">reported<\/a>, CNN medical contributor Dr. Leana Wen said on air that \u201cIt needs to be hard for people to remain unvaccinated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut at some point these mandates, by workplaces, by schools, I think it will be important to say, \u2018Hey, you can opt out, but if you want to opt out, you have to sign these forms, you have to get twice-weekly testing,\u2019\u201d she added. \u201cBasically, we need to make getting vaccinated the easy choice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A popular left-wing blog, the Palmer Report, approved of Wen\u2019s statement but took it a step further, saying, \u201cunvaccinated right wingers\u201d are a \u201cthreat to national security\u201d and should be \u201clocked out of public places.\u201d Studies have shown that the unvaccinated population is not solely made up of \u201cunvaccinated right wingers,\u201d but also African Americans and Hispanics. In New York City, for example, just 33% of black residents are fully vaccinated.<\/p>\n<p>New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio also spoke to unvaccinated Americans as if they are animals, saying: \u201cHuman beings do well when they have carrot and stick.
