On Friday, the agency <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fldoe.org\/newsroom\/latest-news\/state-board-of-education-orders-school-boards-of-alachua-and-broward-counties-to-follow-the-law.stml\">released a statement<\/a> condemning the school boards of Alachua and Broward counties for \u201ca blatant violation of the Parents\u2019 Bill of Rights.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Both counties have instituted mask requirements for all students and staff, regardless of their vaccination status. In June, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) signed the Parents\u2019 Bill of Rights, giving parents the ability to disregard local mask ordinances for their children in public schools.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Forcing kids to wear masks is bad policy. Parents are best equipped to decide whether they want their kids to wear a mask in school.
