Dallas Fed President Rob Kaplan said he has been monitoring how the mutated strain has impacted economic recovery.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s unfolding rapidly,\u201d said Kaplan. \u201cSo far, it\u2019s not had a material effect on\u2026dining out, consumer activity. It is having an effect in delaying return to office. It\u2019s affecting the ability to hire workers because of fear of infection.<\/p>\n<p>In a virtual address at Texas Tech University on Friday, Kaplan said he\u2019s leaving his economic forecasts unchanged for now.
