State Department spokesperson Ned Price has come under fire for an apparent lack of preparation and transparency when giving updates on Afghanistan.<\/p>\n<p>At Thursday\u2019s press briefing, several reporters asked Price the same question, which addressed the uncertainty of how many Americans still remain in Afghanistan. Price repeatedly refused to answer the question, saying he couldn\u2019t provide a number.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">For 5 minutes, Biden State Department Spokesman Ned Price has NO ANSWER for Americans blocked from getting to Kabul airport right now <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/pu2ddDIUlg\">pic.twitter.com\/pu2ddDIUlg<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 RNC Research (@RNCResearch) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RNCResearch\/status\/1427723235697643520?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 17, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Though a clear answer remained absent all throughout, Price repeated several times the State Department is doing all it can to relocate the unknown number of people out of Afghanistan as quickly as possible. Also, when referring to those desperately trying to get into the Kabul airport, the spokesman acknowledged the \u201ccongestion\u201d surrounding the airport.
