Lauren Boebert seeking answers on her seeming misuse of campaign funds totaling thousands of dollars.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/docquery.fec.gov\/pdf\/670\/202108170300124670\/202108170300124670.pdf\">letter<\/a>, from the Federal Election Commission to Boebert\u2019s campaign treasurer, centers around four Venmo payments totaling $6,650.<\/p>\n<p>Boebert\u2019s FEC filings show two payments on May 3 totaling $3,325 and two one month later totaling the same. The filings describe the payments as a \u201cpersonal expense of Lauren Boebert billed to the campaign account in error,\u201d noting that the \u201cexpense has been reimbursed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a statement to the Daily Caller News Foundation, Ben Stout, Boebert\u2019s communications director, said that Boebert thought she was using her personal account but mistakenly used a campaign one, and that the funds were reimbursed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe reimbursement occurred after second quarter ended, and will show up in [quarter 3],\u201d Stout said, adding that the payments were for personal expenses but that he did not know what for. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/08\/18\/carolyn-maloney-cancel-rent-thousands-rental-properties\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Top House Democrat Who Fought To \u2018Cancel Rent\u2019 Made Hundreds Of Thousands On Rental Properties)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" readability=\"6.4170403587444\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">NEW: The FEC just sent a letter to Lauren Boebert questioning her personal use of thousands of dollars of campaign funds <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/TywK9tdGU0\">https:\/\/t.co\/TywK9tdGU0<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/1XZIob7mev\">pic.twitter.com\/1XZIob7mev<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Citizens for Ethics (@CREWcrew) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CREWcrew\/status\/1427967000798797826?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 18, 2021<\/a> <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The FEC letter notes that \u201cif it is determined that the disbursement(s) constitutes the personal use of campaign funds, the Commission may consider taking further legal action.\u201d&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/08\/17\/lauren-boebert-taliban-twitter-build-back-better\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Boebert Defends Tweet Claiming Taliban Is \u2018Building Back Better\u2019)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The letter is not the first time <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/01\/04\/lauren-boebert-washington-dc-robert-contee-gun-carry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Boebert<\/a> has received an FEC complaint.
