The joking remark does not represent an actual \u201creport.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span><b>Fact Check<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Several baseless claims have circulated online in recent months that Trump would be returning as president. Previously, some supporters thought Trump would be inaugurated as president on March 4, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/qanon-march-4-failure-conspiracy-theory-now-prophesizes-march-20-2021-3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Business Insider<\/a>. More recently, CEO of MyPillow Mike Lindell stated Trump would return to office on Aug. 13, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/mike-lindell-claims-august-13-trump-reinstatement-2021-7\">the outlet<\/a>&nbsp;reported.<\/p>\n<p>An Aug. 16 Instagram post claims Fox News reported Trump \u201cwould be back\u201d on Aug. 22. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/01\/25\/fact-check-fox-news-joe-biden-president-400000-americans-dead\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Did Fox News Report That \u2018Joe Biden Has Been President For Nine Hours And 400,000 Americans Are Dead\u2019?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There is no record, however, of Fox News genuinely reporting on Trump\u2019s supposed August return to the Oval Office. Check Your Fact checked <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/search-results\/search?q=trump%20return%20august%2022\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fox News\u2019 website<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/c\/FoxNews\/search?query=trump%20return%20august%2022\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">YouTube Page<\/a>&nbsp;and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/shows\/the-five\/transcript\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">recent transcripts<\/a> and only found one instance where a similar remark was made. In an Aug. 13 episode of \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/video.foxnews.com\/v\/6267860356001#sp=show-clips\">The Five<\/a>,\u201d Fox News host <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/person\/g\/greg-gutfeld\">Greg Gutfeld<\/a> made a comment about Trump doing so in a light-hearted conversation with Fox News contributor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/person\/t\/jessica-tarlov#\">Jessica Tarlov<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut yet, you are wearing red. Clearly this is a subliminal tribute to Donald Trump,\u201d Gutfeld <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/transcript\/the-five-us-china-relations-mask\">said<\/a> to Tarlov. \u201cJessica, you realize \u2014 you realize you\u2019ve made a mistake. It\u2019s OK. It\u2019s OK to admit you\u2019re wrong. By the way, when Trump is reinstituted as president\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAugust 22nd,\u201d Tarlov interjected.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s clear from the context surrounding the remark that Gutfeld meant it as a joke. Tarlov and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/person\/j\/lawrence-jones\">Lawrence Jones<\/a> can be seen smiling and laughing <a href=\"https:\/\/video.foxnews.com\/v\/6267860356001#sp=show-clips\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">during the clip<\/a>. Gutfeld\u2019s sarcastic comment does not constitute a \u201creport\u201d in any sense.<\/p>\n<p>If Fox News had actually reported that Trump would be taking over as president in August, other news outlets likely would have reported on it, yet <a href=\"https:\/\/news.google.com\/search?q=Fox%20News%20Trump%20return%20to%20office%20August%2022&amp;hl=en-US&amp;gl=US&amp;ceid=US%3Aen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">none have<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A post shared on Instagram claims Fox News reported former President Donald Trump will return to office Aug. 22.
