Officials from various departments including State and Defense, told Senate staffers they don\u2019t know of a way to get those Americans past Taliban checkpoints.<\/p>\n<p>The exact number of Americans still trapped outside Kabul is unknown. However, reports said as many as 15,000 may still be in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Republican Arkansas Sen.
