After Gov. Greg Abbott called a special session to pass the bill, again, members fled the state to Washington to urge Congress to pass federal voting legislation. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/05\/07\/texas-democrats-election-reform-bill-advancing-weakened-measures\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Texas Democrats Fail To Stop Election Bill From Advancing, But Weakened Measures Significantly)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Texas bill would prohibit some outdoor, drive-through, and 24-hour voting facilities and change some mail-in voting and ballot drop box rules.<\/p>\n<p>Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/08\/11\/texas-house-speaker-signs-warrants-election-laws-greg-abbott\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">signed arrest warrants<\/a> for 52 representatives who fled the state.
