Indeed.<\/p>\n<p>Legendary folk singer Bob Dylan, 80, is being sued for allegedly giving a 12-year-old girl drugs and alcohol before sexually abusing her at the Chelsea Hotel in 1965.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe \u2018Blowin\u2019 in the Wind\u2019 musician allegedly used his star status to groom, gain the trust of and control the victim \u201cas part of his plan to sexually molest and abuse\u201d her, according to the Manhattan Supreme Court papers, which only identify the plaintiff as \u2018J.C.\u2019,\u201d The New York Post <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2021\/08\/16\/bob-dylan-sued-for-allegedly-sexually-abusing-12-year-old-in-1965\/?_ga=2.138242864.1482030830.1629066416-546292729.1629066416\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBob Dylan, over a six-week period between April and May of 1965 befriended and established an emotional connection with the plaintiff,\u201d said the papers, filed on Friday on behalf of J.C., now a 68-year-old woman who lives in Greenwich, Conn.<\/p>\n<p>The suit alleges that Dylan \u2014 whose real name is Robert Allen Zimmerman \u2014 established the \u201cconnection\u201d to \u201clower [J.C.\u2019s] inhibitions with the object of sexually abusing her, which he did, coupled with the provision of drugs, alcohol and threats of physical violence, leaving her emotionally scarred and psychologically damaged to this day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Said the Post:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"18\">\n<p>J.C. says the emotional effects of the alleged abuse have been long-lasting and that she has had to seek medical treatment for them, according to the filing.<\/p>\n<p>The fallout she suffered \u2014 including depression, humiliation and anxiety \u2014 \u201care of a permanent and lasting natures and have incapacitated plaintiff from attending her regular activities,\u201d the suit claims.<\/p>\n<p>J.C. brought allegations of assault, battery, false imprisonment and infliction of emotional distress against Dylan. She is seeking unspecified damages and a jury trial.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Dylan\u2019s spokesman told the Post that \u201cThis 56-year-old claim is untrue and will be vigorously defended.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But Daniel Issacs, J.C.\u2019s lawyer, said, \u201cThe complaint speaks for itself.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe provided a lot of detailed information regarding the time in question that leaves no doubt that she was with him in the apartment during the time in question,\u201d Isaacs said.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit was filed last Friday in New York, just before the window closed for the state\u2019s Child Victims\u2019 Act, Rolling Stone <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/bob-dylan-accused-of-sexually-abusing-12-year-old-in-new-lawsuit-1965-1212874\/\">reported<\/a>. \u201cThe law, which was enacted in 2019, allowed survivors of childhood abuse to sue their abusers and other institutions that may have protected them regardless of whether the statute of limitations had passed on the alleged incidents,\u201d said the magazine.<\/p>\n<p>Dylan has released more than three dozen albums since he emerged on the scene in 1963 and in 2008 was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for his \u201cprofound impact\u201d on American music. In recent years, he has weighed in on political and social issues in America.<\/p>\n<p>In 2018, Dylan turned a popular song into a gay anthem.
