Despite the slower increase, prices <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/08\/11\/economy\/july-consumer-price-inflation\/index.html\">are still<\/a>&nbsp;on an upward trend in what\u2019s become the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/08\/11\/joe-biden-white-house-consumer-prices-inflation-federal-reserve-economy\/\">quickest rise<\/a> since August 2008.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJobs are up and monthly price increases have come down. Economic growth is up \u2013 the fastest in 40 years \u2013 and unemployment is coming down. So I would argue that the Biden economic plan is working,\u201d Biden declared Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The president admitted that Americans are feeling rising consumer costs and announced various efforts aimed at easing \u201cthe burden on families.\u201d Biden promised to \u201ckeep a careful eye on inflation each month\u201d and urged the country to \u201ctrust\u201d the Federal Reserve \u201cto take appropriate action\u201d if necessary.<\/p>\n<p>Biden said his administration plans to target what \u201cmajor players are doing\u201d that are \u201ckeeping prices higher than they need\u201d to be. This initiative includes an executive order intended to help boost competition for agriculture, CNN <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/08\/11\/politics\/joe-biden-infrastructure-passage-speech\/index.html\">noted<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Biden also spoke about gas prices, which has been another major concern across America. He assured viewers that the administration plans to monitor the market and hone in on \u201cany illegal conduct\u201d sparking increases at the pump. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/07\/12\/inflation-joe-biden-united-states-economy\/\">(RELATED:&nbsp;The Numbers Are In, Biden\u2019s Inflation Is Not Going Away)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cJobs are up and monthly price increases have come down,\u201d the president said, highlighting his administration\u2019s accomplishments while trying to ease inflation fears. \u201cEconomic growth is up, the fastest in 40 years, and unemployment is coming down. So I would argue that the Biden economic plan is working.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Biden called these accomplishments \u201chistoric investments\u201d and promised that his economic plan is working. Some of the president\u2019s comments echoed ones made yesterday, where he propped up the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/08\/10\/joe-biden-advancement-bipartisan-infrastructure-bill\/\">advancement<\/a> of the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"subtitle524\" class=\"subtitle selfragment\" data-id=\"524\" data-start=\"2971428\" data-end=\"2976865\">\u201cOne key thing about<\/span> <span id=\"subtitle525\" class=\"subtitle foundfragment\" data-id=\"525\" data-start=\"2976933\" data-end=\"2984840\">the infrastructure bill that just passed the Senate is there\u2019s no gas tax increases,\u201d Biden said. \u201cNo<\/span> <span id=\"subtitle526\" class=\"subtitle\" data-id=\"526\" data-start=\"2984908\" data-end=\"2990579\">gas tax increases. I made that absolutely clear that I would not raise gas taxes.
