Although the Supreme Court was explicit in noting that Congress, and not a government agency, should set housing policy, the Biden administration was ultimately convinced that a CDC moratorium could sustain a legal challenge.<\/p>\n<p>Biden later expressed some reservations about the decision, as the Daily Wire reported Friday, telling reporters that even if the moratorium became mired in litigation, the appeals process would afford the federal government \u2014 and renters \u2014 a month-long reprieve.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, a federal judge suggested \u201cthat the Biden administration was engaging in legal \u2018gamesmanship\u2019 in order to resurrect a pandemic-related eviction ban despite an indication from the Supreme Court that the measure was unlawful,\u201d a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2021\/08\/09\/judge-district-court-eviction-moratorium-biden-502828\">ccording to Politico<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Biden himself has chosen to be at odds with DeSantis, chastizing the Florida governor for his approach to COVID-19 mitigation measures, telling DeSantis to \u201cget out of the way\u201d of stringent COVID-19-related mandates, including a recent CDC recommendation that all individuals in educational settings be masked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I suggest that people, in zones where there is a high risk, wear the masks like you all are doing, I\u2019m told that government should get out of the way and not do that, they don\u2019t have the authority to do that,\u201d Biden said. \u201cAnd I find it interesting that some of the very people who are saying that, who hold government positions, are people who are threatening that if a school teacher asks a student if they\u2019ve been vaccinated, or if a principal says that \u2018everyone in my school should wear a mask,\u2019 or the school board votes for it, that governor will nullify that.<\/p>\n<p>DeSantis snapped back at the president, explaining that if Biden is \u201ccoming after the rights in Florida, I am standing in your way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy don\u2019t you do your job? Why don\u2019t you get this border secure?
