They will be delivered to the sergeant-at-arms Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/07\/12\/texas-election-law-democrats-washington-dc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fled the state<\/a> in July to deny the Republican majority in the House quorum, so the GOP would be unable to pass an election bill liberals argue unfairly restricts voting rights. Saturday marked the beginning of the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/08\/05\/greg-abbott-texas-election-reform-special-session-democrats-fled\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">second special session<\/a> Gov. Greg Abbott called in an attempt to pass the bill.<\/p>\n<p>It is \u201cfully within our rights as legislators to break quorum to protect our constituents,\u201d Rep. Chris Turner, who chairs the Texas House Democratic Caucus, said in a statement Tuesday, the Dallas Morning News reported. \u201cTexas House Democrats are committed to fighting with everything we have against Republicans\u2019 attacks on our freedom to vote.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The state Supreme Court overturned a <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/08\/09\/district-judge-blocks-arrests-texas-democrats-voting-bill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">district judge\u2019s ruling<\/a> that said the House Democrats could not be arrested for failing to show up to the Capitol on Tuesday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texastribune.org\/2021\/08\/10\/texas-greg-abbott-democrats-special-session\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Texas Tribune<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is no surprise that Republican Governor Greg Abbott and House Speaker Dade Phelan want to arrest their political opponents,\u201d state Reps. Trey Martinez Fischer, Gina Hinojosa, and Jasmine Crockett said in a joint statement after the ruling, <a href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2021\/08\/10\/politics\/texas-supreme-court-blocks-arrest-democrats\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CNN<\/a> reported. \u201cThankfully, this is still the United States of America.
