When it\u2019s John Kerry.<\/p>\n<p>The former Secretary of State and Democratic senator from Massachusetts was tapped to handle climate issues by President Joe Biden. But a new report says he might be doing more harm than good.<\/p>\n<p>So far this year, Kerry\u2019s family&nbsp;jet has already emitted 30 times the amount of&nbsp;carbon emitted by a typical passenger vehicle per year, data reviewed by Fox News show,\u201d the network <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/john-kerry-private-jet-emissions-climate-change\">reported<\/a> on Wednesday. \u201cA Fox News review of flight data and an industry emissions calculator found that the jet emitted an estimated 138 metric tons of carbon on trips dating from Jan. 10 to Aug. 6.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor comparison, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.epa.gov\/greenvehicles\/greenhouse-gas-emissions-typical-passenger-vehicle#:~:text=typical%20passenger%20vehicle%3F-,A%20typical%20passenger%20vehicle%20emits%20about%204.6%20metric%20tons%20of,8%2C887%20grams%20of%20CO2.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">says<\/a> that the average passenger vehicle emits 4.6 metric tons of carbon dioxide in a given year. It\u2019s unclear how much more the Kerry family jet will fly this year but so far, it has racked up 30 times more than the annual amount for the average passenger vehicle,\u201d Fox reported.<\/p>\n<p>Fox reported last week that Kerry\u2019s family jet took at least 20 trips this year with 1,597 combined minutes, or more than 26 hours. Many of the flights were in Massachusetts, including trips to Martha\u2019s Vineyard, where he owns an oceanfront mansion, and Boston International Airport.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJohn Kerry\u2019s climate hypocrisy is writ large,\u201d Steve Milloy, a former member of President Trump\u2019s transition team and founder of JunkScience.com, told Fox.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cElitist Kerry has justified his massive carbon footprint by saying that he is an important guy and must jet everywhere to save the planet. On the other hand, cynical Kerry has admitted that even if the world cut emissions to zero, that would not solve the \u2018climate problem,&#8217;\u201d he said in a statement to the network. \u201cSure, Kerry makes a good poster child for climate hypocrisy, but he is not alone. Al Gore, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Leonardo DiCaprio, Barack Obama are some other mega-carbon footprint-making climate alarmists that come to mind. Having learned nothing from Marie Antoinette, these climate hypocrites sabotage their own efforts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Milloy also pondered why Kerry owns a home on an island. \u201cIf climate is such an immediate and existential crisis, how does [Kerry] dare own a home on the island of Martha\u2019s Vineyard? The only question about all this is the flavor of Kerry\u2019s hypocrisy \u2013 elitist, cynical or both?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In 2015, Kerry spoke about rising sea levels amid climate change. \u201cWe have people who still deny this: Members of the flat earth society who seem to believe that the ocean rise won\u2019t be a problem because the water will just spill over the edge,\u201d Kerry said at a United Nations Foundation meeting in Paris on the health of the world\u2019s oceans.<\/p>\n<p>In 2017, Kerry bought historic waterfront property at Seven Gates Farm in Chilmark.
