Version: 4.0.47--><div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/og-default.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\" \/><\/div>\n<p>A school board member in an Oklahoma district said kids going to school without masks on would \u201ccommit murder.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s just not okay for kids to commit murder by coming to school without a mask,\u201d said Norman Public Schools board member Linda Sexton.<\/p>\n<p>Mask-free children, she continued, \u201cwill cause a death of another child because they come to school without a mask.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sexton reportedly made the extremist comments while encouraging others to \u201cstand up\u201d against Republican Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stites, who has barred schools from mandating schoolchildren to wear masks, instead shifting decision making to parents.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/oklahoma-school-board-kids-masks-murder\">According<\/a> to Fox News, Stites passed a law prohibiting school districts from imposing such mandates in May. \u201cThis is about personal responsibility, this is about freedoms,\u201d the Republican said earlier this summer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would like to try to find a way to stand up as a district and get our surrounding superintendents to stand up with us, and protect our little kids,\u201d&nbsp;Sexton said at the school board meeting. \u201cIt\u2019s insane to send 5- and 6- and 7- and 8- \u2013 all the way up through 11-year-olds \u2013 that don\u2019t have a choice about vaccine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While Sexton is fighting to force kids to wear masks in schools, the&nbsp;Orange County Board of Education in California announced plans this month to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/school-board-announces-plans-to-sue-california-governor-over-indoor-mask-mandate-for-k-12-students\">sue<\/a> Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom over the state\u2019s indoor mask mandate for K-12 students attending public schools for the upcoming year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe board voted 4-0 during closed session in favor of filing the suit, and then had an attorney read a press release in which they said Newsom has abused his authority by indefinitely continuing to issue health edicts under a state of emergency,\u201d the Orange County Register <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ocregister.com\/2021\/08\/03\/orange-county-board-of-education-will-sue-newsom-over-face-masks\/\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe release accused Newsom of refusing \u2018to give up his emergency powers,\u2019 claiming \u2018he has now misused that power in a way that threatens serious harm to Orange County\u2019s students,&#8217;\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/school-board-announces-plans-to-sue-california-governor-over-indoor-mask-mandate-for-k-12-students\">The Daily Wire<\/a> noted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Board has approved this challenge to protect our kids, and to uphold the rule of law and our constitutional framework of government and separation of powers,\u201d the press release added.<\/p>\n<p>The mask battle is raging in Florida, too.<\/p>\n<p>Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis recently moved to ban schools from forcing children to wear masks, and when school officials said they would defy the move, DeSantis said he would withhold pay from any official implementing mask mandates on children, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/desantis-suggests-freezing-pay-of-school-officials-who-mandate-masks-for-students\">The Daily Wire<\/a> reported:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"17.840883977901\">\n<p><em>\u201cWith respect to enforcing any financial consequences for noncompliance of state law regarding these rules and ultimately the rights of parents to make decisions about their children\u2019s education and health care decisions, it would be the goal of the State Board of Education to narrowly tailor any financial consequences to the offense committed,\u201d the governor\u2019s office told <a href=\"https:\/\/miami.cbslocal.com\/2021\/08\/09\/ron-desantis-state-education-board-withhold-salaries-superintendents-school-board-members-mask-mandates\/\">CBSMiami<\/a>. \u201cFor example, the State Board of Education could move to withhold the salary of the district superintendent or school board members, as a narrowly tailored means to address the decision-makers who led to the violation of law.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cEducation funding is intended to benefit students first and foremost, not systems,\u201d the statement continued. \u201cThe Governor\u2019s priorities are protecting parents\u2019 rights and ensuring that every student has access to a high-quality education that meets their unique needs.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>DeSantis was a leading governor in getting vaccine accessibility across his state, with a particular focus on the elderly.
