Listen to the full podcast <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/show\/morning-wire\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>1) <b>Cuomo\u2019s \u201cRight Hand Woman\u201d Resigns<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><b>The Topline: <\/b><span>As New York Governor Andrew Cuomo\u2019s (D) sexual harassment scandal continues to gain steam, several high profile members of his inner circle have announced their resignation.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=PbCBlaJQX3M\"><b>Quote Of The Day:<\/b><\/a> <span>\u201cWhat he did to me was a crime. He broke the law.\u201d \u2014 Brittany Commisso, Executive Assistant #1<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Last week, New York Attorney General Letitia James concluded that Governor Cuomo sexually harassed at least eleven women. President Joe Biden and New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio (D) have since called on him to resign.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>While Cuomo has said he refuses to resign, Melissa DeRosa, the governor\u2019s \u201cright-hand woman,\u201d announced her resignation on Sunday night.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>DeRosa joined the Cuomo administration in 2013 as communications director, and rose to become what the New York Times described as \u201cthe most powerful appointed official in the state.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_254375\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" readability=\"32\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-254375\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-254375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/derosa-810-300x169.jpeg\" alt width=\"527\" height=\"297\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dw-wp-production.imgix.net\/2021\/08\/derosa-810-300x169.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/dw-wp-production.imgix.net\/2021\/08\/derosa-810.jpeg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 527px) 100vw, 527px\" \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-254375\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>Lev Radin\/Pacific Press\/LightRocket via Getty Images<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><b>Why Is She Resigning?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>DeRosa herself was implicated in the attorney general\u2019s report. Some reports say she\u2019s mentioned as often as Cuomo, and fostered a toxic work environment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Attorney General James included an example of DeRosa requesting the \u201cfull file\u201d of Lindsay Boylan, a woman who publicly accused Cuomo of being \u201cone of the biggest abusers of all time.\u201d DeRosa also allegedly played a part in releasing confidential files about Boylan to the media in an attempt to damage her credibility, and also helped draft an unpublished op-ed about Boylan, an act James described as \u201cunlawful retaliation.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>DeRosa\u2019s Involvement With Cuomo\u2019s Nursing Home Scandal&nbsp;<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>During a private call in February with state Democrats \u2014 which was uncovered by the New York Post \u2014 DeRosa said the Cuomo administration intentionally withheld the number of COVID-19 nursing home deaths from the legislature, because they were afraid of the political backlash.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>One assemblymember who was on the call spoke up about the nursing home deaths, and later claimed Cuomo threatened his career if he didn\u2019t cover for DeRosa and Cuomo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>More Fallout<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>Roberta Kaplan, co-founder of the Time\u2019s Up legal defense fund, resigned from the MeToo organization after it was disclosed in the attorney general\u2019s report that she consulted with Cuomo\u2019s team on an op-ed smearing one of the governor\u2019s accusers. <\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_254376\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" readability=\"32\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-254376\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-254376\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/psaki-810-300x169.jpeg\" alt width=\"533\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dw-wp-production.imgix.net\/2021\/08\/psaki-810-300x169.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/dw-wp-production.imgix.net\/2021\/08\/psaki-810.jpeg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 533px) 100vw, 533px\" \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-254376\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>SAUL LOEB\/AFP via Getty Images<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h4>2) <b>The Biden Administration Gets Sued<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><b>The Topline:<\/b><span> A group of organizations, including the ACLU, is revamping its lawsuit against the Biden administration over the use of Title 42 with regard to deporting migrants.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aclu.org\/press-releases\/immigrants-rights-advocates-head-back-court-over-title-42-expulsions-0\"><b>Quote Of The Day:<\/b><\/a> <span>\u201cWe gave the Biden administration more than enough time to fix any problems left behind by the Trump administration, but it has left us no choice but to return to court. Families\u2019 lives are at stake.\u201d \u2014 ACLU attorney Lee Gelernt<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>What Is Title 42?&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/puenteaz.org\/title42\/\"><span>Title 42<\/span><\/a><span> is part of the U.S.<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.govinfo.gov\/content\/pkg\/USCODE-2011-title42\/html\/USCODE-2011-title42-chap6A-subchapII-partG.htm\"> <span>Code<\/span><\/a><span> that has to do with public health and welfare. It allows the government to to take emergency steps to stop the introduction of communicable diseases into the U.S., such as COVID. The measure was reportedly used by the Trump<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/downloads\/10.13.2020-CDC-Order-Prohibiting-Introduction-of-Persons-FINAL-ALL-CLEAR-encrypted.pdf\"> <span>administration<\/span><\/a><span> to expel migrants who were coming into the United States.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Organizations like the ACLU sued the Trump administration on similar grounds and are still seeking an immediate halt to the policy, which they say <\/span><span>restricts immigration at the border \u201cbased on an unprecedented and unlawful invocation of the Public Health Service Act.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Biden\u2019s Response<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=35NwZ7san0c\"> <span>punted<\/span><\/a><span> responsibility for the decision to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) last week.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Later in the day, the CDC issued a<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/media\/releases\/2021\/s080221-southern-northen-land-borders-order-extended.html\"> <span>statement<\/span><\/a><span> explaining they had extended the measure suspending noncitizens from coming into the U.S. through Canada or Mexico.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Border Officials Speak Out&nbsp;<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>In May, U.S.<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/national-security\/565914-aclu-reignites-title-42-suit-pushing-biden-on-border-policy?rl=1\"> <span>Immigration<\/span><\/a><span> and Customs Enforcement (ICE) acting Director Tae Johnson<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.c-span.org\/video\/?511611-1\/us-immigration-customs-enforcement-priorities\"> <span>told<\/span><\/a><span> lawmakers that Title 42 was critical to their operations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>This all comes as<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/border-patrol-union-illegal-immigrants-released-us\"> <span>COVID<\/span><\/a><span> continues to be a concern at the border, especially for those who work to secure it. Border Patrol Union president Brandon Judd <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/video.foxnews.com\/v\/6266273183001\"><span>said<\/span><\/a><span> they have agents coming down with the virus. Many Americans are reportedly sidestepping those mandates by buying or forging fake vaccination cards.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/tv\/joe-scarborough-goes-off-on-anti-vaxxers-rights-to-be-an-idiot-but-we-dont-have-to-let-you-go-where-we-go\/\"><b>Quote Of The Day:<\/b><\/a> <span>\u201cAt some point, you know what, we got to say, you can\u2019t work for the federal government if you don\u2019t have the vaccine. This is common sense.\u201d <\/span>\u2014<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><span>MSNBC Host Joe Scarborough.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>How Widespread Are These?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>The Justice Department<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/fake-covid-vaccination-cards-are-on-the-rise-in-the-u-s-europe-11628341203\"> <span>says<\/span><\/a><span> it doesn\u2019t have any \u201cdefinitive numbers\u201d on how widespread the practice is, but authorities have reported that websites like Amazon, Ebay, and Etsy have carried ads for imitation vaccination cards.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>People are paying anywhere from<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/integrity-asia.com\/blog\/2021\/07\/23\/fake-covid-19-vaccine-cards-are-widespread-in-several-countries\/\"> <span>$13 for a pack of 10<\/span><\/a><span> cards to<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox8live.com\/2021\/08\/04\/nc-college-students-said-be-buying-fake-covid-vaccination-cards\/\"> <span>$200 each<\/span><\/a><span>. Overseas, European Union citizens are paying about \u20ac100 for a copy of the European smart cards.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>The FBI Gets Involved<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced in March that forging the logo of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which appears on each card, constitutes the illegal \u201cmisuse of a government seal.\u201d Each offense is punishable by a $5,000 fine and five years in prison.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In July, federal agents<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-ndca\/pr\/napa-woman-arrested-fake-covid-19-immunization-and-vaccine-card-scheme\"> <span>arrested<\/span><\/a><span> a homeopathic doctor in California for selling pills which she claimed were a natural cure for COVID-19. Among other items, the package is expected to include various climate policies \u2014 including \u201cpolluter import fees\u201d \u2014 that would act as a tariff based on emissions.
