In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oag.ok.gov\/sites\/g\/files\/gmc766\/f\/15200061_1_bosse_cert_petition_21-xxx.pdf\">filing<\/a> on Friday, the recently appointed Attorney General John O\u2019Connor asked to review the ruling, which the state has claimed infringes on its sovereignty.<\/p>\n<p>The McGirt ruling in 2020 made it so that crimes committed on Oklahoma\u2019s tribal land involving tribal members must be prosecuted federally instead of by the state courts. The state has argued this endangers residents due to their lack of ability to prosecute.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The Supreme Court got the McGirt decision wrong, and we are respectfully asking the Court to overturn its decision or to limit it to certain federal crimes.<\/p>\n<p>Without action, the negative consequences will damage Oklahomans for years to come.<\/p>\n<p>More: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/aJwhGagW06\">https:\/\/t.co\/aJwhGagW06<\/a>.
