Fire crews were dispatched to the building in Saint Louis early Friday morning, where four children found inside were pronounced dead.<\/p>\n<p>A fifth child was rushed to the hospital, but was pronounced dead upon arrival.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a nine-year-old to two-year-old and it\u2019s kids and their perspective is the fact that they are blameless in this,\u201d expressed East St. Louis Assistant Fire Chief George McClellan. \u201cThey\u2019re just they\u2019re just kids. and it\u2019s it\u2019s it\u2019s tough. it\u2019s tough.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The blaze reportedly sparked after the children were left home alone. I went outside and saw people running around, police running around trying to get in,\u201d one neighbor explained. \u201cI was hurt, still hurt.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A local coroner identified the victims, with ages ranging from two to nine-years-old, while the mother\u2019s name has not been released. According to fire officials, the mother attempted to run inside and rescue her children, but was unsuccessful.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe guys are taking it pretty hard,\u201d McClellan mentioned. \u201cI mean, we have a probie who this is his first fire.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, officials report the blaze displaced seven other families and investigators would continue to look into what caused the fire.<\/p>\n<h4>MORE NEWS:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.oann.com\/sen-manchin-increasingly-alarmed-by-fed-policies\/\">Sen.
