On Thursday, Lawrence Keane said the suit\u2019s allegations were baseless and the Mexican government should take responsibility for the rampant crime and corruption within their own borders.<\/p>\n<p>Mexico filed a complaint in a federal court in Massachusetts this week, which claimed Smith and Wesson, Beretta, Century Arms, Colt, Glock and Ruger among others named in the suit used reckless gun dealers cartels relied on to obtain guns.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe demand they create reasonable and verifiable standards to monitor and discipline their distributors,\u201d asserted Secretary of Foreign Affairs Marcelo Ebrardo, Mexico. \u201c\u2026They argue that when the weapons are out to be sold and commercialized, they don\u2019t have any responsibility, but they do have it.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">NSSF rejects Mexico&#8217;s allegations that U.S. firearm manufacturers participated in negligent business practices.
