They must provide evidence that they got two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or one dose of the Johnson &amp; Johnson vaccine, five weeks after the vaccines are fully approved by government officials, or by October 25, whichever date comes first, per executives.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">United added that it will allow for exceptions due to health or religious reasons. If employees don\u2019t get vaccinated, they could lose their job.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">This is reportedly a first action for a main carrier in the United States that might create an incentive for other airlines to do the same thing.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cWe know some of you will disagree with this decision to require the vaccine for all United employees,\u201d United CEO Scott Kirby and President Brett Hart <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2021\/08\/06\/united-airlines-vaccine-mandate-employees.html\"><span class=\"s1\">said<\/span><\/a> Friday in an employee note. \u201cBut, we have no greater responsibility to you and your colleagues than to ensure your safety when you\u2019re at work, and the facts are crystal clear: everyone is safer when everyone is vaccinated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In June, United Airlines <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2021\/06\/05\/united-will-require-new-employees-to-show-proof-of-covid-vaccine-following-delta.html\"><span class=\"s1\">said<\/span><\/a> that it would begin making people who are newly hired by the company to provide proof of vaccination. Delta Airlines reportedly took a similar action in May.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Several other companies have made similar moves and will require workers to be fully vaccinated, especially before returning in person to offices in the coming months.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Among the companies mandating such a requirement are Netflix, who will require vaccinations for every member of the cast in U.S. productions, and the people who work on set with cast members.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">As The Daily Wire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/disney-latest-entertainment-company-to-mandate-vaccines-for-employees\"><span class=\"s1\">reported<\/span><\/a>, Disney will also require its workers to get vaccinated, saying in a statement to trade publications, \u201cVaccines are the best tool we all have to help control this global pandemic and protect our employees.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Some companies made the requirement for employees who wish to return to work in the offices, such as Facebook and Google.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cAs our offices reopen, we will be requiring anyone coming to work at any of our U.S. campuses to be vaccinated,\u201d said Lori Goler of Facebook <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/business\/business-news\/here-are-companies-mandating-vaccines-all-or-some-employees-n1275808\"><span class=\"s1\">said<\/span><\/a> in an emailed statement to NBC News. \u201cHow we implement this policy will depend on local conditions and regulations. We will have a process for those who cannot be vaccinated for medical or other reasons and will be evaluating our approach in other regions as the situation evolves. We continue to work with experts to ensure our return to office plans prioritize everyone\u2019s health and safety.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cAnyone coming to work on our campuses will need to be vaccinated. We\u2019re rolling this policy out in the U.S. in the coming weeks and will expand to other regions in the coming months,\u201d Google CEO Sundar Pichai wrote&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.google\/inside-google\/company-announcements\/vaccines-and-our-return-to-office-plans\/\"><span class=\"s2\">in a memo,<\/span><\/a>&nbsp;per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/business\/business-news\/here-are-companies-mandating-vaccines-all-or-some-employees-n1275808\"><span class=\"s1\">NBC News.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">As the Daily Wire previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/can-an-employer-mandate-a-covid-19-vaccination\"><span class=\"s1\">reported<\/span><\/a>, \u201cThe Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) said on May 28 that businesses can indeed require that their employees be vaccinated against COVID-19 without violating federal law.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cBut in the updated&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eeoc.gov\/newsroom\/eeoc-issues-updated-covid-19-technical-assistance\"><span class=\"s1\">guidance<\/span><\/a>, the EEOC said employers must make \u2018reasonable accommodations\u2019 for employees who don\u2019t get vaccinated because of religious beliefs, pregnancy, or a disability.
